Fort Sumter was the Unions first military reaction to the secession.

The Union surrendered the fort after nobody was killed during the battle.

The thinking at the time on both sides was one big battle would be fought and the the winner of the battle would win the war.

That battle was fought on July 21st, 1861 and was fought at Manassas Junction, Virginia.

The Yankees got their butts whooped.

The Confederates failed to advance after the battle was won and occupy Washington DC not wanting to appear as the aggressors so the war went on.

No, Conservatives supported Nazi Germany. For instance Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh. The Nazis were heavily supported by the America First movement. America First...now where have I heard that term used lately? Would it be from the guy who called Nazis "very fine people" and lives in the White House?

House Republican leaders removed Representative Steve King of Iowa from the Judiciary and Agriculture Committees on Monday night as party officials scrambled to appear tough on racism and contain damage from comments Mr. King made to The New York Times questioning why white supremacy is considered offensive.

Why is Steve King getting the boot if his words were not offensive.
