Discovered by those with a rebellious nature. Those that insist there is no God.

Hate is you interjection....not mine. Did I ever say I hated anyone? There are behaviors I detest, but I believe every human being has great value....even you, and has been purchased with a terrible price. All you have to do is redeem the coupon.

Wait....so you are saying only the non-religious manage to discover these things?

That actually makes sense and explains a lot.

thanks for the honesty, I have seen many say that about the smoke after this Pope, more people now say the Pope is picked by man rather then a God then previously

IMHO, Pope Benedict (the real Pope) had made a beginning at returning the Roman Catholic Church to its true foundational roots, beliefs, and practices. Yes, there was, and still is, sexual deviancy among the clergy. Yes, there were irregularities in Church finances (and still are). Yes, there obviously were, and are, problems.

But there was nothing so uniquely 'wrong' with Pope Benedict that he had to be deposed and exiled. This was little more than a 'palace coup' designed to bring an über-Liberal, plainly socialistic, baldly secular, "entertainer" into the Papacy. They can have it. I'm gone....

Why have you a sick need to call me names?

Duh, the Ten Commandments are not "morals"..... they are the Ten Commandments not the Ten Morals....

..and as you 've pointed out they can be twisted and interpreted anyway anyone chooses....:) so they twist and shift in the wind of "my (generic "my") interpretation allows me (generic "me" ) to do anything I (generic "I") want""

And I did note you couldn't address all of my post.

It's Sunday morning, shouldn't you be watching football?

These organizations have had their conversations about how they are going be, and it is what is. Those of us that do not like it find something else to do. Not to make any sweeping indictments towards these organizations, just stating my personal preference. Southern style fire and brimstone, I would likely find just a disagreeable.

You remember that car advertisement, "It's not your fathers Oldsmobile". ? That is kinda how church feels. I have certain expectations and prefer a patriarchy. Now there is no need to argue about whether women should be allow in church leadership. These decisions have made and it is done.

Fear ? No, respect certainly. And FoxH, tell me that you've never met a scary woman. :)

Why do women in a position of authority make you uncomfortable?

    Are they "lesser than" men?

    Less holy?

    Less anything?

    Meant for menial tasks ?

Less in the eyes of your god?

Now, tell me you've never met a scary man?

Why can't you answer my questions above?

You: " I will probably find it irksome as the congregation is headed by women, which I don't care for. """

Maybe you could explain why you find women in positions of authority "irksome"....

Uh, it's the 21 st century....so you might have to explain "light in the loafers" ,a tedious and silly old phrase, to those who are here now...

Now adults use the terms gays or homosexuals....

Fox, I attend Church with a vibrant body of believers on Sunday. I love football, but I limit my viewing to High School football. They stand for the Star Spangled Banner in my community, and in fact my state. Do you have a relaxing Sunday?

That's because your morals have accommodated their behavior. We used to say, we had a gay old time.... not anymore!

I don't know what you want me to address. Anything of substance? I didn't see anything. Refresh me specifically. You're worth it!

The 10 commandments are "morals defined"....you seem to have a hard time dealing with that Fox. I know, you seem to prefer them undefined so they can change on a whim. It's called "moral relativity" and it is the basis for secular humanism as defined by the Supreme Court. I'll tell you something, those commandments were given to our benefit. They are a good structure to make our lives more fulfilling. I am also thankful Jesus summed them up in two. It makes it a whole lot easier and less legalistic.

Actually it doesn't make life easy for me, it just makes it less complicated. My philosophy is fashioned by my moral code, and nowt whatsoever to do with religion. In other words I instinctively know what is right and what is wrong. I totally accept that this philosophy might or might not correspond with that of others, but it works for me . . . and the older I get, the better it works!!?? :p

:) How easy life is for you........how do you determine what is right or wrong? The world just isn't made that way ....there are too many gray areas.....would you shoot an intruder if he threatened you or your family ...(Thou Shalt Not Kill was carved in stone ;) )

As you get older and experience more of real life you'll find right and wrong just aren't so cut and dried all the time..

You: ""In other words I instinctively know what is right and what is wrong. I totally accept that this philosophy might or might not correspond with that of others, but it works for me""

THERE it is , the gray area of morals, the shifting from one person to another, the "not everyone's morals are the same"....the POINT I was making...
