There have been Islamic Extremists both Sunni and Shia in Syria from the get go but the big push of Sunni Extremists coming into Syria was right after Obama announced he intended to ask the U.S. Congress to overtly support the FSA. Yes...there were extremists within the FSA but no where near as many as there were after Obama made the announcement. Our plan has been to first allow the FSA to remove Assad from power and then afterwards help the Moderate members of the FSA to remove Sunni Extremists from their ranks. AboveAlpha
In March 2011 Assad's forces fired on protestors.. men, women and children.. so naturally Assad claimed they were foreigners.. Watch his hour long interview with Barbara Walters.. He is passive and out to lunch or else heavily sedated with valium.. This was early 2011.
Funny how some know about these drugs, I don't? What drugs is Assad on here? According to the New York Times, he got a very cool reception.
He seems very pained, but that does happen when you first come in contact with people who have no sense of right and wrong. I know it from experience, but eventually a person does adjust to the lies, hypocrisy, etc. Assad is personally responsible for the survival of not only the Alawites in Syria, but the Christians, Shias, and the moderate Sunnis as well. If he were to desert his people, or to fail in his mission in fighting the terrorists, they would all be massacred. That's a big weight to carry.
Jeannette.....Basher al-Assad is a mass murderer, a Dictator and the Thief. WHY....would you glorify a man like this? AboveAlpha
She's right. Assad is creepy. But he is also sleepy as his "Handler's" decided to give him 0.2 mg's of Lorazapan. This prevented Assad from firing back if what might appear to be a vicious or violent manner to the in-depth questions asked of him in this interview. AboveAlpha
Who says she's "glorifying" him? More worrying for me, is why people give the instigators of "freedom at the point of a gun" a free pass.
Now, YOU are projecting. Some people are not comfortable in front of the camera, usually because they haven't been trained.
Of course a person who has ordered the deaths of others for their own personal gain will NEVER be comfortable in front of cameras while a hard hitting journalist asks them questions. That's why his Handler's gave him two 0.1 mg tiny tablets of Lorazapan. A 0.2 mg dose of Lorazapan will make anyone care less about what another is asking them. AboveAlpha
There are suspicions lately that the money Saddam had in Syria, and which was supporting the Sunni fighters in Iraq, could have been set up as a trust fund for ISIS. Many of Saddam's Generals are members. This of course would have been very upsetting for Assad, since he risked quite a bit by taking in Saddam's family. So it must have been painful to have them turn on him. The same with Erdogan. Assad helped him out with the Kurds to his own detriment, and then he too like all good opportunists, turned on him.
ISIS danger to all! For Russia very big threat if this unrecognized anybody the so-called state will extend. Russia isn't going to wait when it happens and the mass of religious fanatics will start attacking Russia from all directions. Moreover the Ukrainian nazis to be connected... For Europe too danger, is a little less, but threat... for sociopaths from Washington, it isn't important even if ISIS will do acts of terrorism and in the USA, after all children of oligarchs won't suffer, they live on personal islands and fly by helicopters, in difference from simple Americans.
Putin went into Syria for several reasons none being that the ISIS was much of a threat to Russia. Putin did this to look good at home....to keep the Russian peoples eye's off his own theft of Russian Corporate profits....and to consolidate Syria and Assad as a BARGAINING CHIP that Putin will give up in return for U.S. helping Russia with it's collapsed economy. I was not actually accusing you personally of "whining" I was making fun of the State departments nonsensical claims and "whining" in relation to Assad.
The U.S. State Dept. is feigning anger. In reality this only help's the U.S. It was a HUGE mistake on Putin's part...politically, economically and militarily to go into Syria. It is an absolute NO WIN SCENARIO for Putin and Russia. AboveAlpha
I agree. So why don't the American's let the people directly affected by the tyranny of others get on with fighting for their freedom?
Moderates are like "mythical unicorns" according to every reputable journalist on the planet who knows the situation and everyone who has had direct contact with the region. I have given you about 10 sources so far next to your "ZERO" sources backing up your claim. Here is another: Catholic Archbishop in Syria: Syrian archbishop criticises US for siding with al-Qaeda Quit regurgitating propaganda and show some evidence for this FSA ? Where are the reporters at this FSA-Front line ? Oh ... here is one group ... Looki here ! http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/13/world/middleeast/syria-russia-airstrikes.html?_r=1 Right from the mouth of one a US propaganda machine of all places. Oh yeah ... This FSA army is so mighty and strong and moderate that they tag along with and aid radical Islamist's from time to time and can not do anything without the consent of Al Nusra. Give me a break and stop spouting unsupported propaganda spoon fed to you by the Government.
