I can’t have a problem with things I’m not aware of.
Is it common practice to squirrel away transcripts from perfect conversations with foreign heads of state on confidential servers? Do you think they worried Trump was too perfect in the call?

Sorry but the ONLY ones hysterical are progressives trying to find another smoking gun AGAIN, in a vain attempt to pin something, ANYTHING on Trump, so they can run against Pence next year. They are so frightened that they may have pulled another 2016 Clinton fiasco and are left with some truly horrible candidates. Either too old or completely unlikeable.

If if becomes untenable to stay on their current tract of looking the evidence squarely in the eye and denying it's existence they will simply change course. We need to fully consider the circumstance we find ourselves in. The Mueller report, as a matter of objective reality, did not exonerate Crooked Don. But that hasn't stopped Trumpette's from insisting it did. How? They were supplied with a narrative declaring up is down.
Now, despite irrefutable evidence of Don's guilt in the Ukraine matter, confirmed and embellished upon by multiple witnesses, the minions have swallowed whole the audacious denial that what Trump said isn't what he said.
McTreason embarrassed? Never. Employ facts in their arguments. Why? All they need is a megaphone (Faux) to promote complete nonsense. The minions are eager to adopt it no matter how ridiculous.
Folks like you and I who are waiting for reason, logic, truth, integrity, a sense of duty to..........anything except Don..........to cause the light switch to come on will be waiting forever. The ship has sailed, the Rubicon has been crossed, you can't put the genie...............enough with the cliches..........the country is f***ed. It is broken. The "leader of the free world" is a conspiracy theorist and the adults that used to be in the room have been sacked. The US is officially Crazytown.

Don't pretend the transcript is "perfect." The warning it features makes that clear:

The document itself warns, on the very first page, not to be a verbatim document, under an all-caps: “CAUTION.”

The memorandum “is not a verbatim transcript of a discussion,” the document says. “The text in this document records the notes and recollections of Situation Room Duty Officers and NSC policy staff assigned to listen and memorialize the conversation in written form as the conversation takes place.”

    https://www.vice.com/en_ca/article/...h-the-ukrainian-president-left-some-stuff-out
As Fox Legal Analyst Jude Andrew Napolitano clearly explained to the Fox-indoctrinated who may not grasp the reality:

Whether one agrees with federal law or not, it is a crime to solicit assistance for a federal campaign from a foreign government. As well, the crime of bribery consists of a government official refraining from performing a legal duty until a thing of value is delivered to him.

Trump admits he held up the $391 million. He admits he asked for a favor from the Ukrainian president. And he admits that the favor was to dig up dirt on Joe Biden and his son. He even gilded the lily by publicly asking the Chinese government to investigate Biden.

    ======================================================================================
Fox News' Judge Andrew Napolitano said that the proof of President Donald Trump's potentially impeachable offenses is largely undisputed and that congressional Republicans have no credible line of defense to protect him...

The judicial analyst warned Republicans to be "careful what they ask for" going forward because of the overwhelming evidence against the president.

"Their defense of the president has addressed process, not proof," Napolitano wrote. "The proof is largely undisputed, except by the president himself. It consists of admissions, testimony and documents, which show that Trump sought to induce the government of Ukraine to become involved in the 2020 presidential election."

    https://www.newsweek.com/fox-news-judge-proof-trump-impeachment-inquiry-undisputed-1469212

    ======================================================================================

Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano tore into Republican lawmakers’ current strategy dealing with impeachment, advising them against the current strategy of “to smear the process.”

“Their arguments are to smear the witnesses being interrogated in secret and to smear the process,” Napolitano, said while noting they’d be better off arguing if Trump’s behavior actually merits impeachment.

“A group of Republicans were unhappy with hearings being held behind closed doors, even though those hearings are perfectly consistent with House rules that were written by Republicans when they controlled the House.”

    https://www.mediaite.com/online/and...roofs-have-been-admitted-to-by-the-president/

It's time for RINOs of Trumpery to stop their emotional outbursts, smear campaigns, efforts to gag witnesses and hide the truth, and contrive a rational defense strategy.

    1. By all means, correct my ignorance. I’ll be glad to have a problem with it if it’s problematic.
    2. I think you’re wrong, but feel free to back up that claim with anything at all. Or were you referring to the question about the call being too perfect?

When did releasing a phone transcript become a coverup?

When it was hidden in a confidential server for months and only released after the start of an impeachment inquiry, but with information missing. I think that part right there is the coverup.
Also they released a memorandum, not a transcript, but I’m sure that’s not important.

    That's not a cover up.

I guess you would rather have had Trump save it on an unsecure private server and then once found out delete the transcript and destroy the server and smash all relevant electronic devices with a hammer, right?

No I’d just prefer it be stored where ever non-criminally damning transcripts are usually stored. Wonder why this one was treated so different...o_O

Oh, were you making a dig at Hillary? Have at it, brother! Lock her up, and all that jazz. I think you’re mistaking me for someone who cares if she’s arrested.

WaPo is reporting the Colonel was told not to talk about the call by Eisenberg before it was moved..
That could cost him his law license.

Trump in his infinite wisdom thought he would get out in front of the whistleblower report. I guess he could have tried the "Nixon."

    That is not the question

The question is - why was it stored separately at all?

The extraordinary attempt to hid it in this manner combined with the warning not to tell anyone about it certainly looks very, very bad.

The fake claim of "no quid pro quo" had already been demolished, and vicious attacks on dedicated public servants by hyper-partisan desperadoes has backfired.

All that will soon remain is insisting that it was not really Trump who made the stupid call.

Are you having a stroke or something? Or do you really think that zinger is strong enough to need repeating ad nauseam? Let me know when you find any on the left in this forum scared of Hillary going to jail.

The desperate, knee-jerk reversion to demand the incarceration of their perennial fixation (after years of Trump's vapid incantations and the prosecutorial zeal of Republican congressional committees, the Trump Justice Department, etc., failed to contrive a single indictment, let alone a trail and conviction) betokens impotence.

The knee-jerk defense of Trump that had avoided substance by whining about process - and stooping to lowlife, baseless attempts to demonize impressive and credible witnesses - will soon move on to the, “Yes, he’s a sleaze ball, but this is the same sleaze ball that managed to get elected after boasting that his celebrity licensed him to grab women by the p*ssy!” stage.

Biden is a formidable opponent, and perverting US foreign policy to elicit dirt on him is just “Trump being Trump!” "He's a sucker puncher, always has been, always will be!" they''ll mewl.

Following day after day of damning testimony, asked on Thursday during a press conference if Republicans would go on the record saying Trump’s behavior was inappropriate, big time Trump bum kisser House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said “yes,” and that concession, anathema to their mindless devotion to Trumpery just a week ago, was echoed by about two dozen GOP lawmakers standing behind him.

So, the “Scumbag, Aye! Impeachee, Nay!” stage is about to commence. Fake Don will be very pissy about GOP politicians, hoping to survive, acknowledging that his telephone call seeking a "favor" was not "perfect" of course. Tweet tantrumps will abound.

Since the verdict in the Republican-controlled Senate is a foregone conclusion, after being presented with the evidence (except what Trump can hide by refusing allow some witnesses to share, of course) it is the American electorate that will serve as the jury.

    That’s how it should be.

You are not the first Trumpette to employ that whataboutism nor will you be, I imagine, the last. The thing about using whataboutisms is they are a sign of your inability to deal with the matter at hand. Namely, the treatment of the transcript of the Trump/Zelensky call once its content became known to WH officials like Eisenberg.
