The time has come for We the People to stand up be counted upon to ACTIVELY push back against the egregious rightwing policies that have devastated middle class Americans.

Latina women earn just 54 cents compared to the dollar earned by white males. Even when a Latina woman has a degree she still earns less than a Latin male!

And it isn't as if that white male dollar is worth that much either to begin with. The Republican/Libertarian fiscal malfeasance has FLATLINED the earnings of hardworking Americans for almost 4 decades now while REDISTRIBUTING all of the PROFITS to the wealthy 1% elite instead.

So We the People MUST embrace the Progressive Agenda because we can no longer afford the Republican/Libertarian alternative.

The Dems need to get with the Progressive Agenda or get out of the way.

We are headed into another Civil Rights era but this time it is all about the RIGHT to EARN a LIVING WAGE for ALL Americans.

This is an issue that impacts ALL Americans regardless of political party allegiance, race, sex, age or creed!

From the graduates leaving college facing decades of college debt to the Boomers facing retiring into poverty with only Social Security to rely upon we cannot allow ourselves to be divided against each other in order that the wealthy 1% elite can continue to exploit us.

We the People MUST be UNITED in order to form our own More Perfect Union for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren.

Our future is in our own hands and we cannot afford to squander another election IMO.

We have the candidates, the motivation and the numbers to make this happen so all that individuals need to do is to get out and vote.

 

A couple of thoughts actually:

1. It sounds based on your example, that you want equal, not living wage for ALL Americans, which is the definition of socialism and which has utterly failed in several dozen countries that have tried it. Perhaps your Latina ladies should get a bachelors or masters degree and work 60 hour weeks like many white males do, then, if she is still not paid equally, you will have a case.

2. It's worth noting that after 8 years of Obama's progressivism you now complain that Americans can't earn a living wage and the income inequality is rampant. Obama, obsessed with transgender bathrooms and climate change hoax, failed miserably indeed to improve the lives of the american people and you now expect us to believe that Bernie/Cortez/Kamala progressivism deserves another chance? Puhlease.

 

Ironically, the feds scrutiny of US voter registries ... 'cause Russian meddling ... has 'prolly shrunk the (D) rolls significantly. The "progressive agenda" is to create an artificial voting majority through illegal immigration and amnesty. Why liberals continue to use the phrase "All Americans" escapes me ... as liberals see no discernable difference between US citizens and the illegal alien fugitives burdening taxpayers. Open borders socialism is DOA. The DNC has a severe case of buyers remorse because Ocasio Cortez can't keep her stupid commie mouth shut. But ... never mind my observations ... I'm sure MSM polls show the DNC has "double digit" advantages in every single congressional race. What could go wrong?

Well, Progressivism is the most destructive threat to the Unite States since perhaps the Civil War.

Rather than consider the promises it's followers and promoters say, consider what such an agenda looks like in actual long term practice.

Just look at California. It's doomed financially and socially, yet Progressives claim their agenda will result in greatness for all.

Never. Not ever. That is a fact, and California is the example.

In today's world, what is a living wage in your estimation and how does business accommodate that wage?

 

And the right not to ... Democrats have given under achievers a choice. Take a low skill job, or just stay home and live on federal assistance programs. More dependants = more federal support $$$. What would be a living wage for a single mom of 3, 4, or 5 ? Liberal public schools produce wave after wave of ill equipped job applicants who end up in prison, or on public assistance. But liberals refuse to hold these teachers unions accountable. The only silver lining is that paid protesters need no qualifications at all. The pay is decent considering the skill set required. ::

 

Let's also remember that the minimum wage is a learning wage and not an earning wage. You learn a skill first and get paid later.
If people without skills are making a living wage, what must people with skills earn to be compensated for their skills? They can't be paid the same as unskilled people, or even close to the unskilled.

I totally agree with the article. The Democrat party is insufficiently aggressive. Democrats do indeed need more radicalism.

You complain that Latina women earn half of what white males do and I am sure in your progressive universe the idea that equal pay requires equal skills and equal efforts appears to be just a vacuous strawman.

 

Over the years when I went from 75 cents per hour to $30 an hour I did it without thinking who was president, what party was in power, or what government policies were in place. You want prosperity then you have the freedom to go for it. It will not be brought to you. Knock off the envy and set your own course to achieve your desires.

 

A living wage is not a single universal number because the cost of living varies greatly across this nation. Instead a living wage should be adjusted for local conditions and be sufficient to pay all bills from a salary plus have sufficient excess for both short and long term savings.

As far as businesses accommodating those wages it is worth noting that it was happening PRIOR to the Republican/Libertarian fiscal malfeasance and it happens in other nations all around the world. The outrageous DEMANDS by the greed obsessed Wall Street Casino Bosses need to be curbed and they must be REGULATED in order to prevent them from PUNISHING corporations that don't meet their EXCESSIVE profit making extortion. If that means raising taxes on dividends and capital gains to a top rate of 75% then sobeit. There is no "corporate right to make a profit". Being a shareholder means TAKING A RISK not being GUARANTEED a return.

Equal work means equal pay! That applies regardless of the job description. An accountant should receive the same pay regardless so to whether they are male or female, white, black, Hispanic, whatever.

The onus is on YOU to PROVE that women MUST earn LESS for doing the exact same job that a man does.

Besides, the argument you sprinted from is legitimate. If someone has developed additional skills how will they be compensated versus those with few skills who would likely be paid the same?
