Andrew Johnson actually did contribute to America's greatness. The victorious north wanted to punish the defeated south but Johnson wanted to carry out Lincoln's plans for a positive reconstruction. Johnson got a lot of it done despite the fact that most northerners locked his efforts... even to the point of impeachment. He was ultimately found NOT GUILTY so no action was taken.

 

Gas was an average of $2.36/gallon when Trump left office. Spin that all you want, but THAT IS A FACT. When Biden discouraged fracking, added taxes to oil produced from federal lands, stopped pipeline and slowed drilling licenses for drilling on federal lands... THAT is hen gas prices started soaring. Spin all you want... but THOSE ARE THE FACTS.

Biden's gas prices caused the cost of EVERYTHING that had to be transported to market go up. Biden's fuel costs drove inflation up even before his outrageous spending added to the problem.

Trump's "trade wars" were minor skirmishes at best. Biden has allowed 2 million illegals in. Trump had numbers nowhere near that.

 

You do know what the gas price was in October 2019? It was an average $2.60 per gallon. then we had Covid and the price dropped because demand dropped. As we went back to work and kept the economy "open," then demand went up and prices went up. If you think Trump or any other Executive Branch can control prices, you have not been paying attention.

 

Repubs are always willing to compromise. Dems NEVER compromise. Its THEIR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY.

Trump lost the 2020 election because of Covid. He didn’t know when to sit down and shut up at the press conferences. He needed “the Easter Bunny” to tell him to move on.

He lost me when he kept harping about the “stolen” election. It was okay to complain and go to courts for a couple of weeks after the election, although I could have told him it won’t work. The counts don’t get involved in election results unless the fraud is amazingly flagrant or it’s an emergency, like calling an end to the 2000 Florida recount.

That rally in Washington, which resulted in January 6, was a dumb move. Telling Pence to void the Electoral College vote was even dumber. Harping on it until this day is idiotic.

As the analysis of the Repub shortfall rambles on let's not forget who deserves to be taking a victory lap, Liz Cheney. She stuck to principle, the Constitution, and appealed to the better angels inside the POT, asking that they reject candidates who wrapped themselves in the Big Lie. If the POT ever goes back to being the GOP she has a place there.

 

So I used to work the late Sunday shift alone. 8 pm - 2 am. Sandwich shop. For all intents and purposes, I was running the business during those hours. I had to take inventory, fill out order forms for the boss, balance the register and fill out bank deposit slips. Sometimes I worked on the schedule and there are other managerial things that come up from time to time. Oh, and make sandwiches and cleaning everything. I know why the McDonalds ice cream machine is always out of order. It’s a PITA to clean.

Working in a small shop means being more of a Jack of all trades, and is far more valuable an experience than just being the cashier.

It takes a lot of trust for an owner of a small shop to leave one employee doing everything. Back then, late 80s, there weren’t even any security cameras to big brother me.

That's not how it works. LOL. You have to submit your intention to run to all 50 states, by a deadline. It's not transferable to friends, family or anyone, really.
