I wonder how many cofessed libs support this activity?

It seems to be an anti democratic anti civil republic attack on free speech and reasonable debate

Surely these leftists must be on the extreme edge of lib la la land and do not represent average liberals

 

TC is the new conservative guy since the fall of Bill O'Reilly it looks like.

I think he knows to expect these attacks though.

It just means that he has reached that level of awareness that the democrats fear so he probably welcomes the hits against him.

 

It seems they aren't disagreeing with what he said but just claiming he shouldn't say it. The truth doesn't matter.

 

What libs want it for opinions they disagree with to disappear from the public debate

 

To be fair, This strategy has been working fair the Israel lobby for decades.

Oh, I think most disagree with what he said.

That happens with audience participation, not coercion like the left wants.

 

Carlson could have added sicker since immigrants bring many diseases with them also

I would rather see a factual analysis of the issue than personalizations. He is dismissing a whole range of other issues about immigration and just using red meat to stir up resentment.

Terrible journalism, imo. I don't watch his show but this is pretty typical of Fox commentary.

Yes, there is a lot of fear being stirred up. I would love to into a long spiel about it is our own failed policies in Latin America that have created the conditions for the exodus but that would probably derail your thread and get everyone going after me instead of discussing censorship or immigration.

I would love to see some discussion of what these people are fleeing and how it came about rather than just the usual lefty bashing....

 

Of course he is accountable for what he says in the public discourse. Everyone is and that is fine. That is how it should be.

As long as the government is not suppressing or acting against the 1st Amendment, everyone is socially and potentially professionally accountable for what they say. Jail time and fines are off the table but that doesn't mean there are no consequences.

 

Yeah. Those are my thoughts. Lots of other TV personalities have learned that the hard way.

Free speech does not mean you are immune from public opinion backlash.

They don't need a strategy, Tucker is self destructive.

 

The problem for the activists is Tucker Carlson brings in 3 million viewers a week. That's huge for advertising. Even with an angry cabal of irrelevant protestors, they have a 50% larger audience than MSNBC.

Maybe he will lose some revenue, but someone will always want that ad slot.

Once you get big enough these campaigns don't work.

A concerted effort by those that want TC to disappear by harassing the shows sponsors. This is a tactic that is fairly new but it has taken off over the last 2 years. It started from the left and has had success but now some on the right are doing it too.
