Mopping up still involves fighting mate .. the job not done. Regardless .. don't think Russia is at that stage yet .. has secured much of the land along the black sea but still has the territory from Crimea to Odesa

The "small area left to take" sure looks like about 90% of Ukrainian land mass. The commies hold land in the Eastern edge, and if the chatter is correct, the Ukrainians are prepping for a massive counter attack. The Russkies might run out of "coffin money" soon.

The objective of the special military operation is not all of Ukraine Mate .. Just the region along the black sea. which is maybe 10% of what they have already taken . just a small amount left at which point a cease fire will be negotiated .. mission accomplished.

You've got to remember some people think CNN has 'excellent war coverage' in ukraine. Hell, CNN doesn't even know what the stated goals are....or they do....and just continue to spew lies for duped viewers.

If Zelensky doesn't do a cease fire, then Russia will just get a little bigger and bigger until there's no 'ukraine' left or the Kyiv Clown capitulates.

 

They should really consult with the experts at RT.

The goal of the special operation is looking rather obvious .. not much of a poker face can be maintained .. clearly the area along the black sea is the objective .. at least in the short term. Once that is secured perhaps Vlad will go for more .. but I don't see what the point of that would be.... The prize is the land along the black sea

Vlad considers himself Peter the Great and to Russia, conquering land and expaning your sphere of influence is everything. They want all sorrounding states to be pro Russia/anti west...and if your dialect is Russian based, then by proxy you are Russian and therefore rightfully ruled by Russian leadership.

Control of the black Sea is a massive Strategic - Military - Economic Win .. the rest of Ukraine ...who cares .. is like a crippled duck with out that region.. There is a reason why Russia has held the Port in Crimea for 400 years .. allowing Ukraine control in name only .. Russia had 100 year lease or some such thing .. the details of which matter not. What matters is that that port was a strategic interest .. and Russia was never giving it up to NATO .. and everyone knew it .. but went ahead and poked the bear .. despite Putin drawing big fat Red Lines...

And so Vlad Took Crimea -- ... The BS continued ... and so Vlad has now nearly taken all the territory along the black sea -- this clearly being the current objective.

While it may have been Vlad's intention to get take all of Ukraine .. it depended on how things went .. and how much pain ..for the gain.

Control of the whole nation turned out to be a bit more of a mouthfull -- he tried a quick coup .. needed to destroy the radar and air defenses in any case .. then has pulled back .. focusing on the main strategic objective..

The pain thus far is very little .. Sanctions have failed - the West is suffering huge pain and alot of other places .. exacerbated by factors .. massive inflation .. supply chain issues .. Putin has already paid for the war due to rise of commodity prices .. exposed huge rifts in the US economic hegemony .. which is the real game being played .. Putin has had no problem selling energy and other commodities to an energy hungry world ..

The idea that Vlad would be invading nations like Finland is the stuff of bed-time fantasy ..makes no strategic sense .. the pain suffered for little stragegic gain would be immense .. you would have Nations like India .. Saudi Arabia and friends .. Turkey - and a host of others getting on board with the sanctions .. you could well get China if Vlad went too far ... and now we talking a whole different world of pain.

If Vlad tried such a thing .. all of a sudden you have real weapons involved .. didn't think of that one did you - and there is risk that the homeland would be attacked .. with real weapons .. .. just levels and levels of pain greater.. Why ..when currently .. there is little pain .. and significant gain .. in fact it could be argued that currently it is negative pain... in many respects .. the sanctions helping the Russian Economy overall..

and last .. "No one wants to be Russian" -- Obviously you don't know any Russians -- have no understanding of the culture . or any other cultures for that matter other that your own .. something referred to as "Ethnocentrism" .. baseball - apple pie - cheverolet and you think this extends out to other nations .. because we don't like Russian's .. other nations must feel the same - which humorously is true in some ways - but not in the way that you think ..

I personally - having had significant experience with Russians and Eastern Europeans .. am not a big fan of Russian's in general .. meaning met too many of them who have some latent love for Stalin or some such thing .. hard to explain .. but met many who are just regular folks .. and the beef nothing more than I have with some other cultures of which will remain nameless.

The difference between US mentality and Europe and pretty much everywhere else to be honest .. is that the in the other places it is mindful xenophobia .. accepted and even celebrated to some degree .. the US is mindless xenophobia .. .. and leave it to you to try and sort out what that means

CNN is a joke "The most Trusted Source in News" is near all Editorial -- which is not "NEWs" by definition.
