Sounds like they are not exactly happy with what they are getting paid right now.

Oh, they all want a pay raise. However, the great majority of teachers simply will not consider walk out or strike actions as effective.

Bit more fuel to add to this teacher trend.

    http://hechingerreport.org/poll-finds-southern-voters-want-education-spending/

Not just the teachers but a MAJORITY of the voters themselves across 12 southern states.

Education funding ranks 3rd behind the economy and jobs. Guess what is going to be #1 on voters's minds if the economy is doing fine and there are jobs to be found?

Is it something in the water at SLC that results in that kind of apathy as opposed to what is happening elsewhere?

It may be apathy, but more importantly that teachers are overworked, the great majority of full lives already outside of the classroom that take up much of their time, and that they are intimidated in the culture of publicly questioning or resisting authority.

it is hard to argue against the fact that States that were Won by Trump are in dire need of increased education spending.

The Dem's need to find their voice somewhere. You do not hear any substantive plan or platform out of them. Schumer came out in support of Pot decriminalization ... something that the Dems should have done a decade ago when Obama got in ... other than that has anyone heard more than a peep here and there ?

Even without this Red is in such disarray that Blue might have a chance but I would definitely not be sitting on laurels.

The endless BLOTUS firings and failures are drowning out the Dems "voice".

Instead there is are multiple individual voices being raised and they will unite in 2018 since they share a common goal of restoring sanity in this nation.

The endless cacophony of editorializing from the MSM doesn't help either. I mean really now - would 5 minutes - a couple of times a week not suffice for coverage on Stormy Daniels and the three or four other National Enquirer narratives ? Is there nothing else happening in the world such that the MSM has to yammer on 24/7 on these issues ?

What happens when the day comes when folks do not remember the days when a "news" anchor sat there and read "The news".

Having an one or two 1 hour editorial segments is fine but... should not a network that calls itself "The most trusted source in News" have at least one 1 hour segment that is actually "NEWS" ??

Filthy Donald and his dancing and prancing certainly aids the Dem's campaigns.

And, yes, they will hammer on him and his weaknesses just as much as the Fake Alt Right Media buffons here post their nonsense over and over and over.

I tend to go with history on midterms, the one following the election of the president. And the other party generally picks up seats. Yet with the historic losses of the democrats local, state, federal since 08, this could affect outcome with the midterms. i do not feel comfortable enough to make predictions as I did in regards to trump vs. hillary. I felt very safe in calling the election for trump, given what I saw with the great support sanders received, and the energy behind trump which were both indications for me that an establishment candidate would not win. And I sensed a great anger at the fact that as Princeton evidenced, using congressional record, that the average american got no representation in DC and that obviously millions of us had finally come to grips with what our reality is.And these people were acutely feeling what this lack of representation had done to them economically. As well as when it came to the pox of illegal immigration that neither party had any intent of stopping.

I think the key issues were neocon foreign policy, perpetual war for perpetual profits, while allowing our infastructure to continue to rot and be out of date, illegal immigration which depresses the wages for working citizens in areas like construction, meat packing, and even consumer goods manufacturing, and of course this slave labor globalism which is a scheme of the elites to send more money to them, at the cost to the middle, creating a dangerous disparity in income even greater than was seen in the gilded age.

And this is why trump won states that democrats generally win, areas affected tremendously by slave labor elite driven globalism.

And One Mind ignore the blue surge beginning with lege seats, wins in NJ, AL, VA, WI, along with reducing super red state wins to low single digits (up to cutting 80% margins), scores of GOP senators and congress critters retiring, the prancing and dancing of Filthy Donald: yeah, One Mind has it wrong.

Now he will talk about Hillary. :)

No, I limited my list of the Democrat Party platform to the Democrats own comments.

Do you think it healthy for News outlets to do more editorializing then actually reporting news in favor of one candidate over another? I mean today it is Trump who you hate but tomorrow if things change it could be a candidate you like. I mean only a few people control a VAST amount of our news. That gives them immense power to influence. To me it seems like more of a bought press then a free press and it worries me.

Democrats have nothing to offer the American people. All they do is pander to fringe groups, some whom aren't even citizens, at the expense of the American people.

I'm waiting to see whom CNN, MSNBC, ABC, predict will win, then will be looking forward to opposite result, however, I suspect that they are using reverse psychology this time, so that I will be disappointed when their predictions prove to be correct.

What's the liberal platform? All I can see is supporting illegal aliens over hard working Americans and whining about Trump. That won't win the House or Senate...

The Fake Alt Right Media (FARM) analysis will not float with the great majority of the voters, Dispondent.

Has Herr Rove learned his lesson from 2006?

Given where his paychecks come from I seriously doubt that he is going to provide a non-partisan analysis of 2018.

Karl Rove is a far rw hack, yes.

A dem victory this fall is not guaranteed, but the party chances look good.

Considering Republican failures and the monstrosity that inhabits the White House, I think the Dems will do all right.
