Exactly. One of my guns is a .22 bolt action and without a scope I can hit a tin can at 100 yards every time while standing, and hit it about every 4 seconds.

    Is that your total argument?

You're going to actually learn something today. ".223 Remington" is a nominal size. The bullet itself has a diameter of .224 inches. This same .224 diameter/caliber bullet is used in the .218 Bee, .220 Swift, .221 Fireball, .222 Remington, .223 Remington and .224 Valkyrie, among others.

You should read Senate bill S.736.

Yeah it's pure bullshit. This "prairie dog" argument is a cover to trick the uninformed and keep extreme anti-personnel firearms in public hands. Republicans are complicit in the Uvalde massacre by virtue of their blocking of effective solutions, not to mention allowing military-style weapons to be sold to the public in the first place. They should be tried for being accomplices to murder.

You could, if you got lucky. You won't do it and 300 yards, though.

You still haven't ready Senate bill S.736, have you?

The Gun Control Act of 1968 found that legitimate uses of firearms included “…hunting, trapshooting, target shooting, personal protection, or any other lawful activity”.

Common legal uses for AR-15s and similar firearms:
    1. Long distance shooting. http://thecmp.org/competitions/service-rifle/
    2. Competition - http://3gunnation.com/news
    3. Practice – for long distance or competition
    4. Plinking/recreational shooting – cheapest centerfire ammo, low recoil, adaptable frame.
    5. Varmint hunting - https://www.americanhunter.org/articles/2013/1/10/best-ar-15-calibers-for-predator-hunting/
    6. Big game hunting, in the proper caliber and legal magazine. - http://www.fieldandstream.com/artic...r-style-rifles-chambered-for-big-game-hunting
    7. Self-defense. - http://www.shootingtimes.com/ammo/ultimate-300-aac-blackout-ammo-test/
The federal government sold hundreds of thousands of actual military grade, semiautomatic, magazine fed rifles to citizens for decades, without background checks and mailed them to their homes.
Evidently the government wanted the citizens to own these kinds of firearms.

Just going to throw this out there, for the people who know little to nothing about firearms...

The 2nd Amendment isn't for ******n hunting. That's what you misinformed types don't understand.

The people complicit in the Uvalde shooting are the ones who failed to secure the school house.

Is this a military style weapon? 4017730_1.jpg

I don't know. Many of those on the Left can get pretty anti gun control when there's a "fascist" Republican in the White House.

Ok. Alright. You got me. You win. But then what it proves is that the REAL problem is simply the number of guns in the USA. WAAAAAY too many. And so the solution to all the mass murders is obvious: Ban weapons that can do what was done to the children in Uvalde where two of the 19 were DECAPITATED by one bullet each, bullets entered the torso of one child and PIECES of it went different directions destroying organs with one fragment exiting the child's neck, and one who was hit in one side of his ribcage had his entire thoracic cavity EXPLODED AND BLOWN OUT.

So ban those guns and their ammo; establish a buy-back program with a 20-year sentence for anyone who is caught with a banned weapon 60 days after the buy-back program begins; ban detachable magazines and establish a buy-back program for them, too. Ban semi-automatic rifles ("long guns").

    Thanks for clearing that up.

And why in hell do THREE of my neighbors have fully automatic "machine guns" without a permit or a need?

I have two ARs that will reach out to 800 yds.

Oh, hey, I'm not misinformed! But if you think the 2nd A. means every gun owner is covered by the "militia" clause, then YOU are misinformed.

Tell me this: how old to you believe a person should be to buy a gun?

What if we have ARs that don't use that caliber/bullet type?

You haven't read Senate bill S.736, DC v Heller or Caetano v Massachusetts, have you?

How do you know that they don't have a tax stamp? There are over 700k legally owned machine guns in the US.

It's not luck. It's knowing the ballistics and reading the wind.

Ammunition that can do the damage reported by medical staff and others in Uvalde and which I posted above, should all be banned.

Then that should also be part of a ban and licensing should be tightened up for them.

Oh, and add all pump action guns to the ban.

That's virtually every centerfire rifle round and shotgun round in existence, plus some magnum pistol rounds. Pass.

If your ban has a 20 year sentence for mere possession, what would licensing provide?

You know this really isn't a plan.

Since I've done it, it's not an issue of luck. I built both to shoot out that far, and further.

Bullshit. I've owned 8 or 9 different types of firearms, hunted, reloaded my own .35 cal Remingtons, and know just a bit about ballistics. Most "ordinary" rounds make a nice, neat entrance hole and a somewhat larger exit hole with the exception of really high-power rounds like the 300 Winchester magnum. Handguns? HA! It's 900 fps to the .300 Winchester at about 3200 fps.

    OK so "is it possible?"
Yes. But not for most people who buy a gun and ammo and go shooting.

    I love his opening statement

“Time and time again you have put your right to kill over our right to live”

    :applause::applause::applause::applause::applause::applause::applause:

Let me put that in large letters

    upload_2022-6-10_9-23-42.jpeg

But it is even worse than that because when you read the posts of many of the hoplophiles on this board they are putting their hate of minor inconvenience over the lives of children.

And tell me what is so soul destroying about background checks and gun safes
