You liberals. You guys are just unbelievable. Tebow's an athlete. (one with a pretty good job) he is, in effect, an entertainer. You guys (liberals) jump on the bandwagons of every liberal actor, writer, film director, musician etc. that profits by peddling their liberal agendas and crap to the public. You folks are the most hypocritical flock of bigots I know of.

I've seen guys cross themselves, point and look towards the sky, and go down on one knee in rather similar stances after touchdowns for as long as I've been watching football. During interviews, I've heard sports figures thank god a million times. Never heard a blip from anyone. But a clean cut white guy does it and certain people blow a gasket. I don't get it. He's not even shoving it down anyone's throat either.

Honestly, he truly is a great role model. Kind, generous, well spoken, a team player, a good kid. Look at him compared to 90% of the filth that makes millions of dollars playing football or basketball. Seriously, people need to adjust their priorities and who they criticize.

Nothing at all wrong with his expression of his Christianity...

That aside, he's a below average QB...

Albert Pujols...I don't know his specific religion, but he does display a spiritual nature by glancing skyward in what appears to be a recognition of his God.

    Haters gonna hate....

other athletes get paid millions to wear nike headbands, reebok cleats, under armor dew rags...michael jordans sneakers caused gang like riots in the malls across america selling for $200.00 a pair, and the best you can say is that tebow is profitting by painting john 3:16 in his eye black...how exactly is he profitting? pennies from heaven?
    pathetic.
why don't you just admit that the real issue is that you hate christianity?
this guy has done absolutely nothing inappropriate but yet the liberals feel they must destroy him...christians will be prosecuted.

It's just a tiny bit deeper than that. They are jealous. Tebow has something they will never, can never have. And that thing is clearly of paramount value to him.

They don't pay him to throw the ball, they pay him to win games. He seems to do that pretty well.

Well, considering the fact that he throws around 45%, that sounds correct that he's below average...

But, as you said, we shall see...

Sure a lot of silence on Tebow this week. Why is that?

I'm sure Tebow's a very nice guy, and is certainly a unique talent. Some of his fans are morons, though, as this thread shows. So it's for that reason why I'm glad to see the Broncos lose.

The Packers lost too, and Rodger's was less than stellar.
Don't see too many folks writing him off though...after a bad game.

Give Tebow a chance before dismissing him as incapable of being an NFL QB.

Afterall what did Tebow have to do with New England scoring 45 points?

The Broncos didn't even show up it seems...

New England scores a TD less than a minute into the game...it was a crappy game all around for Denver, you can't single
Tebow out as the sole cause of defeat.

The NFL is a business...viewer ratings for Tebow's games were above average...so they kept the hype going and the talk going about him. Tebow has nothing to do with the level of talk in the media...and for once he's a positive guy...not a guy accused of molesting women in bar bathrooms or slamming dogs against a wall for losing a fight.

I've never heard Tebow proclaim "I'm the greatest QB in the league, it's because of me the Broncos are in the playoffs"...yet the pathological haters impart some sort of power to Tebow like he can control what other's say about him.

It's pathological hatred...with no basis in reality...

Tebow has a solid work ethic, is trying to improve...has never bragged or mouthed off..and he may not ever be an elite QB...but .it's the media that hypes him if nothing else and they hype him because it translates into NFL ratings and M-O-N-E-Y....the NFL is a for profit business last time I checked...

folks blame Tebow for that and it's not the reality of how the sport operates...the sport operates by generating buzz...and folks talked about Tebow for many weeks; it wasn't Tebow making the controversy.

Could you point out where I dismissed him as incapable of being an NFL QB? Thanks.

I find this rant rather pathological. For starters, there are many positive guys in football on every football team. If you've followed the 49ers this season, you'd find an elevated level of positivity pervades that team. Second, most players in the NFL are generally decent people, not involved in dog-fighting or what not.

Some Tebow fans seem to be unusually defensive too, elevating him to some demigod status. Revealing is your assumption that all those who dare to criticize Tebow's game are "pathological haters". He gets criticized first and foremost for his unconventional style and glaring weaknesses in his game. He's not a very good passer, but since he gets the job done with quickness and other intangibles, is a rookie with room for improvement, and the NFL game is always changing, there's a healthy debate on whether or not he has a future in the NFL.

When you have threads like these that mock those that criticize Tebow as "leftists" or "pathological haters", it only reinforces why I like seeing the Broncos lose. It shuts up the jackasses.

Wasn't addressing you specifically in that, just other comments in general that dismiss the guy out of a sincere pathological hatred of him...you just happened to be the last comment I clicked on and replied to.

This reminds me of Palin mania...all the hallmarks of pathological behavior...and sorry I'm not singling out anything in your comment to reflect that just others ...who shall remain nameless per the Terms of Service.

I haven't been impressed with any of Tebow's games, but personally he seems to be a nice guy and I have no idea why folks single him out as an over-hyped player when the NFL is full of over-hyped players...why?

Because he bends down to one knee and says a prayer and that sends some folks into a PATHOLOGICAL frenzy of hatred...
    it's truly a mental disorder....

and again, I'm not singling out anything you've said on here, don't worry about that...I'm not including you in the fray.

I have no dog in the hunt to be a Broncos fan, being a St. Louis Rams fan, well...probably the worst team in the NFL, I have no favorite team
and don't really care who wins the Super Bowl at this stage.

There were plenty of threads that gloated in the Bronco's defeat....singling out one player.

    Tim Tebow....

Someone could start a "I love Cam Newton" thread and I'm not going to compelled to bring negativity into it...I doubt you would see the level of negativity we've seen regarding Timi Tebow...

I don't think Tebow is all that skilled either but I admire his fortitude in the face of the criticism that he's "overly religious."

It goes back to a sincere observation...many of the more ardent atheist's who are net-denizens have mental disorders....

Actually if you bothered to read the OP it addresses Bill Maher being a "leftist" who did single out Tebow in a mocking commentary...Maher's also an avowed atheist who despises religion. The attack on Tebow goes beyond a critique at his skills the attack centers on his openness of faith...and there are plenty of sprittual athletes...I started a thread mentioning one Alber Pujols...who openly talks about his faith...as I say the criticism towards Tim Tebow appear to be more pathological in singling him out.

Kurt Warner is a former St. Louis Rams QB who took them to the Super Bowl in '01 and '02. A very religious person who was also criticized for it....for openly saying "I want to thank Jesus" or something along those lines..a.nd my gosh it sends folks into a frenzy. I see the same thing now with Tebow...

Folks will say...oh well it's because Tebow is simply a bad QB with no passing skills...naaaa, it's deeper than that....the NFL has it's share of mediocre QB's...I don't see much discussion on them.

In the case of Tebow...it's personal....

While we're at it, why don't we round up all of the liberals and throw them off the cliff?

You really need to get your head out of your backside. Tebow doesn't promote his religion. The left and especially the media bring it up in an effort to smear the man for his religion for no other reason than because they think they have a right not to be offended.

I'll go with his teammates over liberal hack ass reporters any day. Tebow doesn't push his religion on them or others.

According to CBS, they are in talks to have him on the sidelines and in the booth next weekend.

They realize that hitching onto a star is a solid business move.

Speaking of Kurt Warner, he thinks Tebow should tone down the holy roller stuff.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...ious-rhetoric/2011/11/29/gIQA6fio8N_blog.html

Stupid liberal atheist pathological Hater Kurt Warner!

The reality is that many of his fans are the real problem, going far beyond anything Tebow does. They treat him as some sort of messiah and defend him like a rabid pitbull when he's criticized. It's weird. I can't understand why there's so much rage from your crowd over criticism of a sports figure. Then again, I don't follow Fox News, right-wing AM radio, or what not and have no chance of getting riled up about faux controversies.

Some probably see Tebow getting more credit, airtime, and attention than his abilities deserve. Around the country, Denver games were shown on TV much more frequently because his fans vehemently demanded it. Or maybe Rush Limbaugh is right. Maybe the hype is because he's a black quarterback and the old liberal media wants a black QB to do well (sarcasm).

If you want to see mostly-ignored unique success stories (compared to Tebow), take a look at what Cam Newton or Alex Smith has done this season. Cam was written off by many before he even started, and Alex was written off as a bust years ago.

I don't mind the holy roller stuff. I like Tebow's enthusiasm and have not followed his stuff that closely to confirm that Kurt Warner's critique is on the mark. However, I broadly question what the point of praying for victory is. It's just a game. Should we pray when we play a game of checkers and thank God for the victory? It seems rather silly and misplaced. I would think players would want to pray instead for a good game, no one gets hurt, and everyone plays to the best of their abilities, and let the best team win. Upon losing, thank God when some of those results are achieved. Praying constantly first and foremost for victory seems fanatical and misguided, although it seems to attract fanatics like ants to sugar.
