USA COVID-19 statistical "slim" analysis for EOM October (2021-10-031)
(UTC +0, Greenwich = 20:00 UTC -5, East Coast of the USA)

    ֍֍֍֍****** 46,823,938 ******֍֍֍֍
THE USA DATA FOR OCTOBER 2021 IS SEMI-FINAL
THIS IS AN EXTRA, UNPLANNED ANALYSIS, MADE NECESSARY BY THE DELTA-VARIANT WAVE

    +23,968 daily cases / +182 daily deaths

+2,506,967 cases over the month before / +49,178 deaths over the month before
That is a massive decrease in +cases & and substantial decrease in +deaths over the month before

    USA 7-day rolling averages:
+73,022 new C19 cases per day (one month ago: +112,095) / +1,420 deaths per day (one month ago: +2,020)

    ---------------------------------------------------------
The number of serious/critical (ICU) cases in the USA: 12,284 (one month ago: 20,399)
Total USA C19 tests: at month's end, the USA was just under 700,000,000 total C19 tests administered

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    STAT'S EXCEL-TABLE:
    2021-10-031 COVID-19 USA SEMI-FINAL 000.png

I was planning to not report on the USA any more on a monthly basis, but then the Delta-Variant struck the USA, most notably in states where not enough people have been vaccinated. This will be a very, very brief analysis. There is no rubrik table for the USA anymore, it has served its purpose. If you don't ready anything else here, read the postitivity rates and see where the high rates are coming from.

Both the +case wave and the +death wave in the USA are receding. It is looking very much as if the USA is coming out of this wave. Also, vaccinations in hard-to-vaccinate areas appear to be on track again.

It is important to note that for the first time, a large amount of +cases has been among youths and children. That is a new development.

In the month of October, 2021, Indiana went over the 1,000,000-case-mark, while Maine and Wyoming went over the 100,000-case-mark. Every single state in the USA except for Hawaii and Vermont (48 of 50 states) is now over the 100,000-mark.

California is the ONLY state within any nation on the planet to have performed over 100 MILLION C-19 tests on it's own. That is just a mind-boggling figure. Worldwide, only 7 nations have performed over 100 million such tests, for context.

24 units within the USA, 23 of them being states, have now suffered more than 10,000 total C-19 deaths. Worldwide, 56 nations (57 as of today, 2021-11-001) have suffered 10,000 total C-19 deaths or more, for context.

Speaking of deaths, the USA has now accrued more than three-quarters of a million C19 deaths, a gruesome statistic, but we are not far from "break-point" in deaths between the Trump and Biden adminstrations, respectively. In THIS posting I recorded that right before Joe Biden's inauguration, the USA had suffered 411,520 Covid-19 deaths. Break point will be 823,040, with 823,041 meaning that as of that moment, more Americans will have died from Covid-19 during the Biden administration than during the Trump administration. Currently at 766,299 deaths, we are now 56,741 away from break point and it is very, very likely that the USA will reach this marker by the end of the year. It took about 11 months during the Trump administration to get to 411,520 deaths and it looks like it will also be just about 11 months for another 411,520 deaths to have been added during the Biden tenure thus far. This is a sobering reminder of how deadly this virus is.

Finally, with this analysis I am listing the date as semi-final since by the time the "2-days ago" final data for the worldwide values will be crunche and released tomorrow, the USA values are bound to move just a bit.

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, Total cases, daily values:
    First, the WorldOMeter values:

    2021-10-031 COVID-19 USA SEMI-FINAL 002 - total cases.png

And here is the look with my monthly compare excel table:

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, Total cases, deaths and tests (descending order):

2021-10-031 COVID-19 USA excel total cases, deaths, tests 001.png
2021-10-031 COVID-19 USA excel total cases, deaths, tests 002.png

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, + monthly cases, deaths and test and the +daily case averages

Here the monthly + averages, something you cannot see at WorldOMeter:

2021-10-031 COVID-19 USA excel plus cases, deaths, tests 001.png
2021-10-031 COVID-19 USA excel plus cases, deaths, tests 002.png
By doing it this way, this greatly reduces the number of graphic necessary to see as much information as possible.

The large worldwide EOM analysis is coming out in about one hour and I would like to write in advance that understanding it and profiting from it requires a certain amount of discernment and willingness to dig deep with one's own eyes into the nitty gritty. It's a weird situation we have going on right now, and I would bet that most people don't know this.

Feel free to tag others and ask them to read the upcoming analysis.

If I were a newspaper reporter during WWII and this pandemic had hit then, then my headline for today's paper would be:

"Baltics, Balkans and Caucasus on Fire!"

Because there is no doubt that the Fall/Winter wave of 2021 has begun and it is orginating in Eastern Europe and slowly expanding to other parts of the globe. You will see evidence of this in the excel tables below, but also hard evidence in nations I am not currently tracking. Not only is Russia taking a harder hit than ever before, both Ukraine and Belarus are equally unlucky, Romania is unable to control the virus and even Bulgaria, which I removed from the tracking, is back in the tracking. Hungary, which had slowed down to a snail's pace, logged +11,000 cases on 2021-11-001, one day after the month of October. Yepp, it's burning down there all right.

    Ye Olde Tracking Tree:

In February 2021, I developed the tracking tree (based on the idea of an ancestral family tree design). Here is how the tracking tree looks right now:

The tracking tree is a good way to get a quick and reliable overview of the situation at hand without getting all down in the weeds with too much numerical minutae.

    The 4-Rubriks Worksheet:

The first three weeks can be found with each weekly concise analysis (7th, 14th and 21st of each month).

The top 50 nations (all in my current tracking) within the worldwide figures:

Here the screenshots of the excel tables for 50 top nations nations alongside the worldwide figures today can be found in the pre-analysis reports:

And speaking of the USA, between yesterday and today, the figures were slightly updated, here the final values for my homeland:

With Serbia having crossed over the 1,000,000 mark in the month of October, we now have a symmetry between 2020 and 2021, In THIS posting from 2021-10-010, I noted this and provided a helpful table:

    WORLDWIDE TOTAL C19 +CASES, +DEATHS and +TESTS (top 50):

The calculated monthly average daily cases, deaths and tests, can also be compared to the 7-day rolling average from the final 7 days of the month. The next set compares the monthly averages to the rolling 7-day averages using the stoplight highlighting system. RED = there were decidedly more +cases or +deaths in the last 7 days of the month than in the month overall, YELLOW = the two figures are relatively stable in relation to each other and GREEN = there were decidedly less +cases or +deaths in the last 7 days of the month than in the month overall

    WORLDWIDE TOTAL C19 +CASES +DEATHS 7-DAY AND MONTHLY AVERAGES (top 50):

This kind of data is the best possible, hard-and-fast support for my claim that in the Baltics, Balkens and the Caucasus, it's burning.

First, let's look at where things are very stable: in the UK, the monthly +cases (+40,361) and the 7-day rolling average for the last week of October (+40,565) are almost identical to each other. Things were miserable in the UK all month long, with no let up. The UK is rank 2 next to the USA in +cases. Similar story for Turkey in monthly +deaths (+212) and the 7-day rolling average for the last week of October (+214). Again, the figures are almost identical.

Where I have shaded both values in red, then there was a sharp uptick. In cases: Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Czechia, Chile, Hungary, Jordan, Switzerland, Sweden. Many of those nations are East European nations, but not all of them. Romania was steady but heavily hammered the entire month, ala UK.

In deaths: Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Belgium, Czechia, Netherlands.

Where I have shaded both values in green, there was a sharp downtick. In cases: India (falsely marked in blue instead of green, oops), Phillippines, Malaysia, Cuba, Israel, Indonesia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Morroco and Tunisia. One thing to note about this list is that not one single country is from Eastern Europe.

In deaths: Vietnam, Indonesia, Cuba, Argentina, Pakistan, Japan, Morocco and Bangladesh.

Doubtless the Delta Variant is receding in many parts of the world (including the USA), but on the fore-march in other parts of the world. The TRICKY part to all of this is ascertaining if a major dropoff in +cases is because of less infections or because of seriously less testing. For instance, in Tunisia, there has been a steady dropoff for months now, but Tunisia is barely testing. Where you don't test, you can find the infections, it's that simple. Austria, on the other hand, is testing (per capita) more than any other country in the world an despite some of the more draconian C-19 restrictions, is clearly in the middle of a new Fall-wave.

THE TRACKED NATIONS UNDER THE 1,000,000-MARK, HOW CLOSE TO 1,000,000?

As of and including November 1st, 2021, there are/were 61 days left in the year 2021.

I created a new table in July for the nations that I am tracking under the 1,000,000 mark to see which of them, based on their current 7-day-rolling average, will cross over the 1,000,000-case milestone within these last 122 days. The five nations currently in my pre-tracking are also in these calculations.

Rows 2-7 of this table are sort of a primer for us all, to get a good ballpark view of what a nation at each of those round C-19 case totals would have to suffer in order to go over 1,000,000 cases.

First, sorted by total cases, descending:

And the more logical sort is by number of days at this current rate until each of those underdeck nations reach 1,000,000:

The long and short of this is that the numbers, if they hold as they are now, point to 4-5 nations I am currently either tracking or pre-tracking that are going to cross the 1,000,000 case threshhold.

    WORLDWIDE TOTAL STATISTICS BY CONTINENT:
All of the WorldOMeter screenshots of the continental data are at the overflow link at the top of the analysis. Here is the distillation of the top-line data for the continents:

And next we can see a statistical monthly compare, sorted in descending order by cases, deaths, recovereds, +cases, +deaths, +recovereds:

And by the growth rates, in descending order:

We see incontrovertable evidence of a major wave in it's first 1/3 in Eastern Europe, spreading outward.

Since EOM October 2021, just 3 days ago, the 7-day rolling +case average in little Austria has risen considerably, from +4,625 on 2021-10-031 to +5,475 as of today, 2021-11-003 (Austria has already reported in for today). With 58 more days left in the year after today, if this figure holds right where it is, then Austria would add another 317,550 C-19 cases to it's current total of 847,408, putting that nation at 1,164,958 by year's end, well over the 1,000,000-mark. Austria is currently 44 in the rankings, with all nations from rank 37 on downward under the 1,000,000 barrier at current.

Also, Austria is less than 2,000,000 tests away from having performed 100,000,000 (one hundred million) tests and is by far the land on the entire planet that tests the most per capita (9,000,000 people live in Austria).

Why is this big news? It's big news because Austria had some of the most draconian lockdown restrictions in the entire world, Austria tests like crazy and for a while, I was sure that Austria would never go over 1,000,000 cases. Just two months ago, on 2021-09-003, Austria was averaging +1,500 per day and in August, well under +1,000, in July, it was under +400 per day, a drop in the bucket.

But the Delta creep that has set Eastern Europe on fire has also reached Austria. Austria is a beloved tourist spot, especially for skiers.

If Austria cannot tamp down on C19, then no one can. It's really that simple.

One more thing: if other nations were to be testing on the scale that Austria is currently testing, I would bet bottom dollar that our world would be at at least 330 million total confirmed cases right now instead of 248 million. We are missing just oodles of real cases because some nations are simply not testing.

For instance, yesterday, Tunisia (population 12 million) reported less than +4,000 more tests performed over the day before and recorded +104 cases, which looks like a dream in a Covid-19 addled world. However, Austria (population 9 million) reported +306,382 new tests performed on the same day as Tunisia and reported more than one half million (+581,327) new tests today. Were Tunisia to test on par with Austria, I bet that Tunisia would be showing about 10,000 fresh infections per day.

What I am saying is that lands like Tunisia are simply not testing. This is a point I wanted to hammer home in the EOM analysis, but PF only allows 16,000 characters per posting. I am not even saying that this is deliberate. I am simply saying that there is a verifiable dearth of testing where we really need it. Some of this is the supply-chain shortage problems with production and delivery (not only the West Coast of the USA is having a problem with incoming products, it is happening all over the world), but some of it is also lack of interest, plain and simple. Egypt, a land of 105 million residents, is claiming to have less than 400,000 cases, but has also conducted less than 4,000,000 total tests. Where you don't test, you won't find infections and where you don't find infections, you cannot sequester them and where you cannot sequester them, at some point in time, the R-factor just shoots through the roof and it's then game over.

Russia, finally understands this. Today, Russia recorded 5.9 MILLION more tests over the day before. Russia's +case average is now over +40,000 per day and the death rate is approaching +1,200 per day. By the beginning of next week, Russia will like hit a quarter of a million C-19 deaths.

Terra firma: our world will go over 249 million total confirmed Covid-19 cases today and is on track to hit one-quarter of a billion cases at some point in time during the weekend, likely on Sunday, 2021-11-007. When we assume (and we can very much safely assume this) that we are maybe catching only 1 of every 5 cases across the world, if at all, then that 250,000,000 which would be officially registered is likely closer to 1,000,000,000 actual infections that have occured, between 1/7th and 1/8th of the worldwide population.

Austria just clocked in today (2021-11-004) with +8,183 fresh C-19 infections, it's 7-day rolling average is now at +6,037 per day. Today's value is by far the most +cases in Austria's history. The Fall wave is now in full swing down in Edelweißland. I wrote yesterday why this is such a bad sign.

Also, Russia (including today) has now reported more than +1,000 daily deaths on 18 of the last 20 days and over +1,100 for the last 10 of those 20 (in a row).

Poland is now recording it's highest +case average since the end of April, 2021, more than 6 months ago. However, daily deaths are rising as quickly as they did in the Spring wave of 2021.

Today, Ukraine just broke over 3,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases and with a current average of +22,094 per day, will surely break over 4,000,000 by years end. These are the highest +case values that Ukraine has seen thus far in it's Covid-19 history and most unfortunately, unlike Poland, +deaths in Ukraine are rising sharply, with an average of +563 per day. One month ago, on 2021-10-004, that average was +167, so within one month's time, more than 3 times as many people are dying from Covid-19 in Ukraine. There is a more than strong possibility that Ukraine could be clocking over +1,000 daily deaths by Christmastime. Something has gone seriously wrong in Ukraine.

Yesterday, in the baltic nations between Russia and Poland:

    Estonia: +2,302 cases / +13 deaths
    Latvia: +2,718 cases / +45 deaths
    Lithuania: +2,299 cases / +45 deaths

And in slavic lands close to Poland and Ukraine:

Czechia: +9,932 cases / +36 deaths (figure from 2021-11-003, not yet reported today)
    Slovakia: +5,361 cases / +36 deaths
    Croatia: +4,573 cases / +41 deaths
    Slovenia: +3,464 cases / +18 deaths
    Moldova: +1,487 cases / +42 deaths

Apart from Czechia, the other 7 I just listed are nations that are not even remotely close to my 50-nation tracking. Even Finnland, far away from the rest of the world and hard as hell to reach, showed +1,150 cases / +6 deaths.

As I wrote in the EOM analysis for October 2021: "Baltics, Balkans and Caucasus on Fire!"

Yesterday, Romania exceeded 50,000 total confirmed Covid-19 deaths ,it is the 20th nation on Earth to exceed this marker and is currently averaging +454 deaths per day.

Just 6 weeks ago (2021-09-021) was the first time this Balkan nation reported more than +100 daily deaths and at that time, was just under 37,000 total deaths.

OUR WORLD EXCEEDED 250,000,000 TOTAL CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES ON 2021-11-006

    This happened yesterday, 2021-11-006:

Today (2021-11-007), as of right now, Vietnam is now just over -30,000 away from 1,000,000 total Covid-19 cases. If it maintains its current average of just under +7,000 (+6,975) fresh infections per day, then Vietnam will go over 1,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases this coming Friday, 2021-11-013 and will become the 37th nation on Earth to do so. Vietnam's entry into the so-called million-club will also mean that as of this point in time, more nations will have crossed over the million-line in 2021 (19) than did in 2020 (18 ).

Also today, Austria went over 100,000,000 (100 million) Covid-19 tests performed, making it the 8th and by far the smallest nation on Earth to pass this mile-marker. Further, Austria's 7-day-rolling-average in daily +cases continues to rise, is currently at +7,558. Austria is -116,113 away from the million mark, which would put Austria over 1,000,000 cases in 16 days, on Tuesday, 2021-11-023, making it the 2nd nation in this month and the 38th nation overall to exceed 1,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases.

    39, 40 and 41....

Kazakhstan, curently at 948,599 cases, is actually far closer to the million mark than Austria at current but is averaging far less daily cases (+1,340), which means that at this rate, Kazakhstan will get there in 39 days, likely in the 3rd week of December, 2021. That being said, it would not surprise me at all if either Hungary or Switzerland (or both) get there first. Hungary is about -108,000 cases away from the 1,000,000 line but averaging +4,106 cases per day, which means that at this rate, Hungary gets there in 27 days, which may mean a cross over the 1,000,000 line in this month or at the beginning of December, depending the severity of Hungary's wave. And Switzerland is not far behind Hungary but reaping about half as many +cases per day. However, Switzerland's upward curve may end up being even sharper than Hungary's, so both of them may end up in front of Kazakhstan.

Right now, two nations that had been roaring up to the million-line have fortunately sputtered out: Morrocco and Cuba. Wait and see what happens.

It's looking very much as if we are going to end 2021 with at least 41 nations over the million mark: 18 from 2020 and 23 from 2021. Sobering, indeed.

Today is Monday, November 8th, 2021. The 45th calendar week of this year has begun; there are only 8 more calendar weeks including this one until the end of the year.

I would like to focus on a number of nations where the +cases have been drastically reduced and also look at the current level of testing in those lands. It's a mix of countries well over the 1,000,000 mark and countries working their way toward the 1,000,000 mark.

These figures are as of yesterday, 2021-11-007, although some nations have already reported in today as well. I have decided to focus in on nations with under +600 cases per day on the average.

Indonesia: 4,248,165 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +544 cases / +20 deaths per day. Testing: +233,333 tests per day. At it's absolute peak mid-July 2021, Indonesia hit a one day 7-day-rolling over +50,000 cases (on 2021-07-018 ) and the testing average on that day was +206,921. So, the extreme drop in +cases in Indonesia is not due to a lack of testing. Indonesia is simply over this wave.

    S. Africa: 2,923,296 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +263 cases / +22 deaths per day. Testing: +25,633 tests per day. At it's absolute peak early-July 2021, South Africa hit a one day 7-day-rolling of +19,956 cases (on 2021-07-008 ) and the testing average on that day was +69,345. So, S. Africa is testing far less than it was in July 2021, but that alone cannot account for such a massive drop in +cases. S. Africa is simply over the current wave.

Japan: 1,724,200 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +191 cases / +6 deaths per day. Testing: +45,748 tests per day. At it's absolute peak late August 2021, Japan hit a one day 7-day-rolling of +22,848 cases (on 2021-08-025) and the testing average on that day was +126,004. So, Japan is testing far less than it was in August 2021, but that alone cannot account for such a massive drop in +cases. Japan is simply over the current wave.

Bangladesh: 1,571,013 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +241 cases / +5 deaths per day. Testing: +20,137 tests per day. At it's absolute peak early August 2021, Bangladesh hit a one day 7-day-rolling of +14,477 cases (on 2021-08-003) and the testing average on that day was +48,636. So, Bangladesh is testing far less than it was in August 2021, but that alone cannot account for such a massive drop in +cases. Bangladesh is simply over the current wave.

Cuba: 955,981 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +567 cases / +4 deaths per day. Testing: +21,023 tests per day. At it's absolute peak early August 2021, Cuba hit a one day 7-day-rolling of +9,187 cases (on 2021-08-007) and the testing average on that day was +43,139. So, Cuba is testing half of what it was in August 2021, but that alone cannot account for such a massive drop in +cases. Cuba is simply over the current wave.

Morocco: 947,396 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +179 cases / +6 deaths per day. Testing: +12,492 tests per day. At it's absolute peak early August 2021, Morocco hit a one day 7-day-rolling of +9,774 cases (on 2021-08-010) and the testing average on that day was +51,584. So, testing in Morocco has all but fallen off the cliff, but that alone cannot account for such a massive drop in +cases. Morocco is simply over the current wave.

Nepal: 814,929 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +274 cases / +5 deaths per day. Testing: +2,606 tests per day. That's a miserable, shameful statistic. Boo. At it's absolute peak mid May 2021, Nepal hit a one day 7-day-rolling of +8,961 cases (on 2021-05-012) and the testing average on that day was +19,291. So, testing in Morocco has truly fallen off the cliff and this skews the statistic so badly, it's impossible to know if Nepal really has the pandemic under control, or not. That being said, neighboring lands are also showing lower +values, so I would bet that it's a mix of both.

UAE: 740,432 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +75 cases / +1 deaths per day. Testing: +255,485 tests per day. That's a very good statistic, to say the least. UAE is one of the richest lands on the face of the earth and can afford to test 20 times it's own population every day were it to be inclined to do so.... At it's absolute peak end of June 2021, UAE hit a one day 7-day-rolling of +2,142 cases (on 2021-06-029) and the testing average on that day was +268,534. This means that the testing has barely budged in the UAE and it has beaten Covid-19 back due to it's enviable position of being able to do things that only super rich nations can do. Roughly the same number of people live in the UAE as in Austria and both have tested near to or over 100,000,000 times, a testament to testing in both nations. But where Austria is obviously in the grip of a massive new wave, the UAE is not and for sure it is not due to a lack of testing.

Tunisia: 713,308 total cases, current 7-day rolling = +80 cases / +5 deaths per day. Testing: +3,273 tests per day. As with Nepal, that's a miserable, shameful statistic. Boo. At it's absolute peak end of August 2021, Tunisia hit a one day 7-day-rolling of +2,851 cases (on 2021-08-031) and the testing average on that day was +15,192. So, testing in Tunisia, which was never good to begin with, has truly fallen off the cliff and this skews the statistic so badly, it's impossible to know if Tunisia really has the pandemic under control, or not. Tunisia is also a pretty secretive land and tends to lie about things just about as much as, say, Egypt.

The story that is being told right now is that in some nations in my 50-nation tracking, Covid-19 really has been reduced to a drop in comparison to the peak values for those nations. And though reduced testing could account for some of that drop, it cannot acount for all of it.

Of the 9 nations I have described here, the UAE gets and A+ from me, Japan gets a B+, both Tunisia and Nepal get an F and the other 5 between B and C.

Remember, just about 5 weeks ago, Austria, Czechia, Poland and Hungary were in the position these 8 countries are in and I was thinking they would simply sputter out and those under the million mark would not cross over the million-mark and now it is obvious that both Hungary, Austria and Switzerland are racing toward the million-barrier, so what we are seeing right now in these Asian, African and Island lands can change on a dime, just as it did in Eastern Europe.

    Food for thought.

As of today, Wednesday 2021-11-010, Russia has now recorded one quarter of a million Covid-19 deaths, with the exact total standing at 250,454.

Also, today, Ukraine once again reported more than 800 deaths (+815, to be exact) in one day. This is the second day in a row for so many deaths in this nation.

Belgium is moving toward an average of +10,000 cases per day. That is three times more than during the winter wave of 2020.

Two Eastern European nations have now arrived on my Covid-19 radar, both clocking about +7,000 per day: Slovakia and Croatia. They have now entered the pre-tracking.

As of the end of day today, Bulgaria will move from the pre-tracking to re-enter the official 50 nation tracking and Lebanon will exit the tracking and become "dormant".

Vietnam is now at 992,735 total Covid-19 cases, putting it -7,266 from crossing over the million-mark. Currently, the 7-day rolling average for Vietnam is: +7,610. Therefore, if Vietnam maintains this average, it will enter the million-club tomorrow, Thursday, 2021-11-011, on day earlier than I last predicted. Vietnam will be the 37th nation on the face of the Earth to exceed 1,000,000 total Covid-19 cases.

VIETNAM EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2021-11-011, 37th NATION TO DO SO

On Thursday, 2021-11-011, Vietnam jumped over the 1,000,000 mark in total C19 cases:

    2021-11-011 COVID-19 VIETNAM 000 - goes over 1,000,000 cases closeup.png

    Here the excel table:

    2021-11-011 COVID-19 VIETNAM 000 - goes over 1,000,000 cases.png

With Vietnam's entrance into the million-club, there have now been more nations to cross over the million-mark in 2021 (19) than in 2020 (18 ).

Although, Cuba, Morocco and Kazakhstan are now closer to the million-line, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland are moving far faster and will likely get there before, with both Hungary and Austria on track to join the million club within the next 12 days.

PS. BTW, I bought a new computer (finally). Please let me know if the published graphics look any different on your end as of today.

Northern winter and how will Covid behave? Grow and mutate or fade off into a feebler variant?

    Today, Saturday, 2021-11-013:

Russia has now climbed over 9,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Germany will cllimb over 5,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases, very likely today, at the very latest, tomorrow. This means that Germany will then become the 12th nation on Earth to surge over 5,000,000 cases and also be included in the weekly concise analyses.

Austria is now in serious trouble. I don't think anyone in Austria ever thought it was going to get this bad, especially so quickly. Today, Austria, little bitty Austria, once a shining beacon within Europe, recorded +13,152 new Covid-19 infections today, making this the fourth day in a row where Austria went over +10,000 cases per day. Austria just jumped over Hungary and Morroco in the rankings and will surpass both Kazakhstan and Cuba in the rankings either tomorrow, Monday at the latest, making it the next country in line to break the 1,000,000 barrier. Austria is now averaging +10,395 cases per day, which means that since that country is currently at 948,100 total cases, it will get there in five days, on Thursday, 2021-11-018. However, within the data is something even more disturbing. Here, take a look:

    2021-11-013 COVID-19 AUSTRIA 000 - massive surge.png

We see a ten-fold increase in +cases over just a little more than one month ago, from 2021-10-011 through 2021-11-013, but we also see a five-fold increase in active cases (meaning, people who are still sick) in just about the same time frame. Over 105,000 Austrians are now listed as active cases. That's more than 1% of the total population of this small country.

The geographical map of Österreich (Austria) shows that of course, a lot of cases are being found in the capital of Wien (Vienna), also in Salzburg, but a large number of cases and deaths are being reported in Öberösterreich (borders on Czechia and Bavaria), Kärnten and Steiermark (both border on Slovenien).

What was burning in East Europe is now burning in Central Europe.

Austria now has mandatory quarantine for the unvaccinated.

    GREECE

Greece has suddenly surprised the world and is now well on its way to the million-mark as well. Look for yourself:

    2021-11-013 COVID-19 GREECE.png

Within one month's time, from 2021-10-013 to 2021-11-013, Greece's 7-day rolling average in daily cases has more than tripled. The 7-day rolling average in daily deaths has slightly more than doubled, a noteworthy statistic.

Currently at 828,032 total confirmed cases, Greece is -171,968 (-172,000) away from the million mark. This means that in the 48 remaining days of this year, Greece only needs +3,583 cases per day to get there, is however averaging almost double that, at +6,773. So, even if by some miracle Greece were to hit the Covid-19 brakes, it is still very, very likely to join the million club by year's end. I started tracking Greece at the beginning of June in this year, starting with 409,368 cases.

Greece's current average is just under Hungary's (+6,803) but well ahead of Switzerland's (3,084).

If current conditions hold, then Austria, Hungary, Greece and Switzerland are guaranteed to join the million club, bringing our world to 41 nations to have (sadly) achieved this statistic. And Kazakhstan is more likely than not to just squeeze over the barrier right at year's end. So, it may be 42 instead of 41.

Greece is just another example of how the current Covid-19 wave is raging in Eastern Europe.

Concise COVID-19 WEEKLY analysis: 2021-11-008 (Monday) through 2021-11-014 (Sunday)

Worldwide and 'dreadnaught' nations from 5,000,000 COVID-19 cases upwards

THE SIG-FILE EXCEL TRACKING CURRENTLY ENCOMPASSES WORLDWIDE FIGURES + 50 NATIONS
Currently, the figures for worldwide composite figures and 12 of the 50 tracked nations are published here as screenshots on a weekly basis.
Germany joined the concise analyses during this last week.

    +50,720 weekly deaths // rolling 7-day avg = 7,246 = 5.0 new deaths every minute, tendency: rising

50-NATION TRACKING: RUSSIA, IRAN & GERMANY EXCEEDED THE NEXT MILLION MARK LAST WEEK
GERMANY HAS NOW ENTERED THE CONCISE WEEKLY ANALYSES, 12th NATION TO DO SO

AUSTRIA IS POISED TO EXCEED 1,000,000 TOTAL CONFIRMED C-19 CASES DURING THIS COMING WEEK

FOR THE OTHER MAJOR RUBRIK CHANGES DURING THIS TIME, SEE RUBRIK TABLE BELOW
    -----------------------------------------
My eyes are seeing the CONTINUATION of another wave, which originated mostly in Eastern Europe and has now moved to Central Europe and other regions as well. There is a statistically significant uptake in +cases in Hungary, Austria, the Netherlands and Germany. The USA is once again on the rise as well, a disturbing sign.

UK & Russia are all but guaranteed to break over 10,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases by year's end; Turkey may as well.

I have stopped writing out the daily +cases/+deaths in the analysis, you can clearly see them in the screenshots. The weekly +cases/+deaths ARE written out, because I also take the 7-day running average and also calculate those values per minute, for deeper context.

Austria and Hungary have already reported their Covid-19 numbers for today:

Rank 38 - Austria: 971,541, -28,459 away from the million mark, averaging +11,354 cases per day. Just as predicted, Austria will jump over the million-zone on Thursday, 2021-11-018.

Rank 39 - Hungary: 960,844, -39,156 away from the million mark, averaging +7,264 cases per day. If this average holds, then in 6 days, on Sunday, 2021-11-021, Hungary will join the million club. Hungary just reported +21,060 new cases today, but it does not report any statistics on Saturdays or Sundays, so this number is essentially divided by 3 when it occurs on a Monday.

Today, 2021-11-016, the Netherlands (Holland) just recorded +20,168 new Covid-19 infections, by far it's highest one-day number and double its average from the peak of the Winter wave of 2020 going into 2021. The current 7-day rolling average in the Netherlands now stands at: +15,768, almost FIVE times higher than it stood one month ago, on 2021-10-016 (+3,229).

The Netherlands is currently rank 21 in the worldwide Covid-19 rankings.

The wave is now deep into Western Europe, I regret to say.
