Good on you... I stopped being a Saints fan yesterday when some of them kneeled. I believe I heard that fans in Buffalo were booing, New England as well...

OK, I'm not a big fan of Pro sports but I sure got a kick out the great big finger football players gave Trump....I enjoyed it immensely.

Professional football and basketball players are the most spoiled, ungrateful bunch of people in America.

That's no surprise, nor is the fact that you're not a pro sports fan. The pro football fans are the ones that are mad about this, they're also the ones that matter.

...and rich thanks to all who support them , paying any price to see them play. :)

...and nothing will stop football, it is a god to some and even Trump supporters will NOT give up their football.....NO one will give up football enough to have any impact :)

Typical alt-left, anti-Trump response. How ignorant can you be?

NFL ratings are down again this season. Is it time to panic yet?

Utter nonsense. No one really gives a ****.

    Stop playing the anthem.

If you want you can do it on your own free time.

    It's a waste.

It's just the patriotic, traditional thing to do. Not that we expect any anti-American human to honor that.

OOOH, ratings are down...BFD......NO one will give up football....oh, a few diehard-grumbling-under-their-breath Trump supporters may but I bet even Trump doesn't give up watching foot ball :)

It's hardly time to panic....there's been so many scandals in pro sports and they just keep rolling along.......

You really think they are protesting the military? I thought they were protesting the treatment of poor blacks in all judicial matters, for exemple. Why the fck would they protest against the military?

Is Old Glory now a militaristic symbol?

And I expect fake pro America Americans to try to make it into anti/pro for America issue .....as if there are LAWS on patriotism and tradition....there aren't...

and what the anthem has to do with sports has always mystified me.....

pro-sports shouldn't be a religion although they are so will never go away no matter who protests :)

Athletes have a right to their own opinion on their own time. When they are on the field they are employees who are supposed to be working for the fans and they should keep politics out of it. If you owned a restaurant wouldn't you tell your waiters not to push their politics on customers?

If anything, all of the drama would have helped, rather than hindered, the NFL. They're all over the news as we speak. How many new observers will there be next sunday for next "flaggate" episode?

In that sense DJT did the NFL a great service. Un-consciously and accidentally, but still.

    Here's how it went...

Curry hesitated, Trump said ok, nevermind and withdrew the invitation, professional athletes explode...

HILARIOUS! It's easy to see who the snowflakes are...

How/When did the "National Anthem" get perverted to being for the military and honoring those that fought and died. Since you are a Viet Vet era when you sang it in grade/high school were you thinking about the military or just America in general (like me). If "America the Beautiful" had been voted as the anthem, would it have been a tribute to the military?

Technically, the pay starts the moment he signs a contract. And they are a public figure who is always "on the clock" in terms of representing the team and the owner.

And, get this, the owners are nearly unanimous in support of the players and in condemnation of Trump.
