I don't think there is a thread on this yet but there are claims that 4 ships, two of them Saudi have been 'sabotaged' outside the Strait of Hormuz. America needs to be careful what they wish for. Let's start with their President, Hassan Rouhani. Rouhani is well educated, experienced and relatively moderate. He was strong enough to get a nuclear deal signed while keeping the Revolutionary Guards at bay.

Now let's talk about those guards because they are bad actors. This is where the 'be careful what you wish for' comes into play. If Bolton gets his way and there's regime change it's not likely to be toward a more moderate President. It's going to be a RG takeover. Remember what happened last time there was regime change in Iran?

The US position should be to support development in Iran and not try to take down the duly elected President.
