    If republicans were smart, they would be pressing for Pence to invoke the 25th and try to remove the Trump stench from their party. Pence could step out from being Trump's loyal lapdog to being a leader who stood up to the rioters in the senate, and acted presidential and went to Biden's inauguration. Then run Pence in 2024 as the Trump policies without Trump and rebuild the party incorporating Trump supporters with Pence.

    Instead 2024 will be about republicans trying to distance themselves from Trump. Pictures of Trump banners over the capital riots won't go away. Look for Christ Christie to be a front runner.

    If that were true, why didn't they have added security ahead of time? The truth is that the actions of these few are not common among Trump supporters. Thats why the thugs were able to storm the capitol with little resistance.

    Ego of one man and the absolute idiocy of millions destroyed the foundation and the reputation of our nation.     If Biden had two brain cells, he would call off Pitbull Pelosi from performing another purely political circus show out of our House of Reps. Biden could de-escalate and unify by requesting that we just move forward from January 20th and stop throwing gasoline on smouldering embers, if he were a real leader. People are saying she's thinking of impeaching then not sending articles to the Senate for 2-3 months (again). Final result will be the same as last time.

    The 2024 GOP nominee will be a Nationalist populist unless the GOP cheats outsiders the same way the DNC cheats outsider candidate. Then we get some lame Establishment RINO like Jeb Bush and Democrats win with DementiaMan or the lady who Dem voters absolutely hated in this year's primaries.

    70% of Republicans want the GOP to take up Trump's America First platform. Either way the party decides to run things, there is no way that Left State News contributor Chris Christie has a chance.

    I can't speak for Trump, but no one was calling for more security in advance. If Trump supporters were known for their proclivity to commit violence, politicians would be calling for the National Guard will in advance. They did not and these thugs had the element of surprise.

    Trump's FBI had a report warning of the probability of violence the day before. Trump is the boss of the FBI. The buck stops with him.

    The Mayor of D.C. was offered more law enforcement assistance in advance of the event and she responded that it was not needed.
