On this you are correct. On this you are also correct. I was not aware that they had extended the definition of "modern human" to include much older versions of humans. It was apparently extended due to deficiencies in the old system. In either case, my point remains and is actually bolstered by the extension.
Nope, same version of humans. Homo Sapiens. Other versions of humans have been around for millions of years which is why I specified modern humans.
Actually the term "archaic homo sapiens" was once used and referred to african fossils that were dated at 150-350 thousand years ago, some scientists also used the term "Homo helmei". That term is apparently no longer used and instead those fossils are simply referred to as modern homo sapiens.
