Meanwhile, about 30 million Americans have caught the flu virus this season. The flu is killing 150 Americans every day. Not to minimize it, but covid19 is killing about three American a day. That aside, the Trump administration is doing a good job addressing the new virus. And the criticisms are essentially politically motivated BS for the most part.

Yes. And only two years ago 80,000 died of the flu in the US. No alarms, no stay at home orders, no daily news conferences, no business shutdowns, ...

Singapore and Hong Kong are open for business with similar effects of the virus to the US.

    He's terrified he won't get re-elected.

That's why he wanted the Ukrainians to open a bogus investigation into Joe Biden.

Trump believes he's infallible, he's always right, never apologizes because he says he's persecuted by his opponents and sees himself as a "stable genius".

That's why he has led the public to believe, since the beginning of the pandemic, that he has the situation under control.

But it's not at all the case.

It's amusing to see diehard Trumpsters so flustered by the documented instances of their deity braying as the crisis worsened, "We have it so well under control. I mean, we really have done a very good job," giddily claiming that "eveybody's getting better!", that, as it spread, it was a "fact that we're going down, not up. We're going very substantially down, not up!", "And again, when you have 15 people [infected], and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done!", and that despite the woeful inadequacy of testing as confirmed by Dr Fauci, "Anybody that wants a test can get a test!"

The plethora of Fake Don's falsehoods are undeniable, and so his worshippers are in a tizzy whenever his record is honestly acknowledged.

No, it's amusing watching his critics veer in panic from pussygrabbergate to Stormygate to Russiagate to Ukrainegate to Obstructiongate to Coronagate.

It doesn't matter what Trump says he would be wrong in your eyes. I guess he should have come out and said "Were all going to die" . He's an optimistic guy and truly believes America is Great and can overcome anything. He has faith in the ingenuity of the American people that we can overcome anything. I think he left the Democrat party because he couldn't stand the "Doom and Gloom" that is so prevalent there. He may not always get it right but he has more wins than losses.

Because of forum rules I can't call you a liar, but like many on here who are ill informed and for their own political agenda keep pushing falsehoods, I'll sure look for another word.

President Trump did also issue a "Proclamation on Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Nonimmigrants of Persons who Pose a Risk of Transmitting 2019 Novel Coronavirus" on January 31, 2020. This prevents most foreign nationals from being able to enter the U.S. if they have traveled to China within the past 14 days and was widely considered a reasonable step in the coronavirus’ initial phases of spread and contagion ( here ). President Trump issued a travel ban to European countries in March 2020.

It’s going to be just fine.”

    Official US actions

This same day, about 200 Americans are evacuated out of China and flown to a military base in California, where they are quarantined. Messonnier, the top CDC official, says the drastic move was necessary because “we are facing an unprecedented health threat” from coronavirus.”

    Foreign developments
    February 1
The WHO says there are more than 10,000 confirmed cases worldwide.

    Official US actions

Trump struck a more measured tone at a White House press conference, where he conceded that “additional cases in the United States are likely.” He also asked the press and politicians “not do anything to incite panic because there’s no reason to panic at all.”

Influenza-related hospitalization rates are the highest on record for children younger than 5 years and adults aged 18 to 49 years, according to the latest report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

It was reported by China as a mysterious pneumonia illness on DEC 31, 2019. It is not until Jan. 26, 2020 that it is known as a flu that can show up without symptom's. Jan 31, 2020 Trump shuts down traval to and from certain parts of China. Please read Post #84 with the time line I supplied you.

Why would one begrudge a President a few moments of relaxation from the daily tasks and rigors of his job. He doesn't take any money from the job. He has meetings just about everyday with different groups and dignitaries. It is well known that he outworks everyone on his staff and works long hours. He is more transparent than any President in history. I don't see where the Trump haters have any room to bitch, they were too busy trying to impeach him. On top of that he has to satisfy Melania.

Besides, Trump took the Chinese Wuhan coronavirus seriously before anybody else did, issuing the China travel ban on January 31, for which the Mockingbird Marxist Media called him a racist and a xenophobe. Trump was miles and miles of miles and miles ahead of them.

you are making the assumption that Trump is capable of thinking rationally. The fact that he only makes sense when he reads from a teleprompter proves otherwise.

did you look the timeline, China report it to WHO in dec, that was 3 month ago. like i said SK got the 1st case same time as US, look what they done! they lock down very early, they didn't brush by as a simple FLU, and got pretty much everything right, now their curve is flatten. once its out, and its in the US around Jan, its our responsibility to do something, especially we seen China and SK starting locking down, thats pretty big sign saying something is wrong. but no, trump say its simple FLU when every health care professional says otherwise, He didn't do **** till Italy cases are out of control, ill bet he wont do what he doing right now if EU case growth is lagging behind US. He only did it because the massive report of cases and death in italy.

Fake Don's lickspittles, mimicking his passing gas, now look as fraudulent as he does:

We have it under control. It’s going to be just fine,” Trump bragged on 22 January. He has never managed to rise from that low point. All Americans have had is bluff and bombast intended to make the virus seem a minor nuisance, and then, as reality dawned on the president’s narrow mind, to ensure blame went to anyone but himself. He was not alone. Fox News, which acts as a front for his administration and as the respectable face of crackpot politics, has been engaged in an equally clanking gearshift. At the beginning of March, liberal criticisms of Trump’s inability to see a national emergency when it was staring him in the face were “just another attempt to impeach the president”, according to one presenter. At worst, the virus “could be the flu”, added a second. Not even so bad a flu, opined a third. The U-turn in mid-March was so fast you could smell the burning rubber on the road. Overnight, coronavirus became a “health crisis” and an “incredibly dangerous and contagious virus”.
