Trump somehow always manages to position his opposition right where he wants them.
As Partizan1 suggests, it is a rather uncanny ability.

    Look, this is simple.

Iran was **escalating** it's attacks on US targets in Iraq.

Those escalating attacks resulted in the death of an American several days ago.

Then the Iranian-led attacks escalated into attacking our embassy in Iraq.

    Trump told Iran to stop.

    They didn't.

At least Trump isn't leading from behind with pallets of cash.

His reputation is intact. The American people trusted him enough to elect him and he has done nothing to change that situation, the left wing propaganda war not withstanding. Pushing the US into open warfare will most likely mark the end of the current political regime in Iran. Do you really think they will take it that far?

The House is run by the DP political bosses. The DP has even voted to impeach Trump, but the political bosses that actually run the place have decided not to impeach even though they insisted that the matter was urgent.

Trump's opposition is spinning itself into the ground. It may be time for new leaders and advisors.

Turns out that possibly, all we really have to do is document and report on what Hunter Biden is doing. He seems to be the proxy for what leading liberal elites want to happen. He was part of the deal to gloss over the invasion of Crimea, and now he seems to be doing business with a Chinese company that has very questionable activities in Iran. Hmmm.... Because the NDP has no depths to what their criminal capacity might be...

Iran is lucky that Trump has been able to block the US military industrial complex from engineering a major war with Iran. Other than that Trump's election has been a catastrophe for Iran and it's DP friends.

There is also the possibility that when the air strike is forgotten by US voters (in about 48 hours) that this will only be remembered as something that drove up gas prices and stalled the stock market.

There is also a growing movement against “The Forever Wars” that transcends party lines.

I wouldn’t lay any bets on how this will turn out in 10 months.

I guess it's just too much to expect some folks to read a reliable nows source. The ONLY reason Trump scrapped the Iran nuclear deal is because it was tied to Obama. All six other signers know that Iran is still operating subject to the agreement. Only the U.S. welched on the deal, a deal that was working.

Then the genius in chief, with his magnificent huge brain, made matters worse when he increase sanctions because they wouldn't negotiate new terms he liked - whatever those might be. Maybe if the Supreme Leader wrote him a love letter it would help.

Trump and Iran's leaders are on the same page in one area - they know saber rattling at home keeps them in office. You can look for another round of nuclear fire shouting with North Korea soon.

The embassy wasn't invaded. As many as maybe a thousand Iranian militia raised hell and burned a guard station outside the embassy. Then they went home. Want to go to bombing airports over that?

That is ancient history. It takes a long time for a people to catch onto that kind of scam, but 75 years of endless warfare and not clear positive outcome has done the trick for Americans.

This country is now very opposed to another land war anywhere for any reason.

Maybe it has more to do with the reality of his position on the issues and those of his opposition? Maybe they really do prefer the Ayatollahs to an American President?

It really is astonishing. Especially during the last year of an election cycle.
The DP used to be the smarter party.

Um . . . you mean the impeachment polling numbers which had already seen Trump's popularity numbers return to their normal -- even with Barack Obama at the same time period -- level BEFORE the strike occurred? Those numbers? It sort of makes one wonder if the political Left even know what facts are.

He was also hell on innocent wedding parties with his drones. I wonder if it was a reaction to being forced to marry Michael or Michelle or whatever in order to disguise his true sexual orientation? When you give an all appearance and no substance 'guy' like Barack unlimited power there tends to be . . . absolute corruption.

It reminds me of how the political Left and their MSM used to refer to G.W. Bush as Dumbya and Idiot and then turn around and admit that this same Dumbya Idiot was easily playing them like a cheap fiddle. Now it's Trump whose stupid and deranged and yet so very easily runs circle around their best and brightest no matter what they or their MSM throw at him.

Do we gather you are upset over the decision or you facing the reality that Trump is no obama when it comes to pulling the chain of the POTUS

Trump’s election has been a catastrophe for anyone who didn’t want a war with Iran, so most people.

Would those be the same bloodthirsty leftist warmongers who cheered Obama on no matter what he did by way of death and destruction in the Middle East simply because he was their Holy Anointed One? Asking for a friend.

Why do I recall Democrats rejoicing when Obama took out Bin Laden (even though in reality Obama played with Love throughout most of the raid)? Was not Obama putting American lives in danger, making the region unsafe, escalating the situation and pissing our ally in the Middle East?

How was it different from Trump's action?

Well, Iran might have mistakenly concluded that all of the protests in the USA since the day Trump took office, the MSM actively campaigning against Trump, people screaming at the sky, and the democrats holding Trump in holding pattern impeachment, might have weakened Trump enough politically that the Iranians could strike with impunity.

Iran should rethink that position now under the new set of guidelines, guidelines which use no mere words.
