Attacking Americans is usually a mistake.

Can’t say I know. You’ll not find me cheering on actions I found detrimental. Obama made mistakes. Trump has an is making mistakes. I calls em’ as I sees em’.

Taking disproportionate military action is generally a mistake unless you’re looking for full blown war. But then maybe that’s what Trump wants. Who knows?

Michael Moore seems have been the first insider to realize what Trump has done to his opposition.

"Is there a way out? And we saw that around the country people are not hopeful. They’re very aware that this person pulled off something unimaginable. To have someone who appears to be an idiot beat the smartest person ever to run for the president of the United States, that takes some evil genius and for him to outsmart us is part of our pain, I think".
SHOWBIZ 411, Michael Moore Thinks Donald Trump Wrote NYTimes Op-Ed Piece: “He’s the master of distraction, he wants us to believe there are adults in the room”, By Paula Schwartz - September 15, 2018 11:50 am.

We are not at war with Iran, so the catastrophe is in your head.

We could be, if Iran is stupid enough.

After reading about the assassination last night, my thoughts eventually went to PF members and their reactions. And, as suspected, reactions fall along party lines. My question is about the loyalty to Trump in the wake of this latest news. Will there be any change in support if the strike results in countless deaths of Americans worldwide? If an Iranian cyber attack negatively impacts the lives of Americans?

Or if they feel they can count on Russian and Chinese support. Wonder if those two are looking for a proxy to fight the US.

If that is coming it's best to get it over with right now, without further delay.

    IF that is coming.

I haven't followed this whole Iran/Irag thing over the past week(s) so I really didn't expect this event nor do I understand the reasons behind it at this point, i'll need to do a bit of reading elsewhere to get caught up so it makes more sense.

With that said, if the powers that be determined that this targeted attack was a necessary and appropriate response then for the time being I'll accept that premise.

In the meantime, my only primary comment would be that I appreciate them doing this w/o debate/discussion/talk which = warning those at risk.
I prefer that if and when we do things such as targeting a specific individual that we find out what we did after it happened vs giving anyone time to react or disappear so that we can't do anything because its too late.

Obviously some (dem candidates?) disagree with that approach but I most certainly don't. That was one of the most frustrating aspects of some of the military action during the previous administration where we announced we were going to do X or Y ahead of time.

Trump's popularity will increase during any war with Iran that does not involve a high casualty ground war. Especially if the damage inflicted on Iran is very disproportional. Crushing Iran would be very good for Trump politically.
Of course, it is not in our long term interest to do that. But for the Islamist regime, Iran is a natural ally of the US in the region.

perhaps you need to do a little homework on who Qassem Soleimani was and what he has done... that will you give you many answers.

The US has actually shown restraint over past couple of years, Iran has orchestrated several hostile acts vs US and Trump has remained constrained. This US embassy attack where a US contractor was killed was the final straw, plus that guy was a bad man.... responsible for thousands of American deaths in past decades. It is astonishing that he has been able to avert assassination all this time.

Iran won't do sh&t, they know US can squash them easily and this guy was hostile towards US.

also, the Iranian people are more civilized and modern that some think, many hated this guy and all these clerical leaders who oppress and suppress freedoms.

yes, the plan was to start with the underlined and move on from there. Sometimes the hardest part is to get objective analysis from a 3rd party author with as little bias as possible, which is always helpful.

Where should I start.... Wapo? /sarcasm

Saying you understand, then immediately saying something that indicates you don’t... I’ve never been quite good at identifying verbal irony, but I think that fits.

Yes, Moore can read patterns. He's already predicting another Trump win. Unfortunately for the Left he does not understand WHY Trump is going to win. Moore's solution set? Go farther and harder radical Left in the selection of a presidential nominee. Sheesh!

Diplomatic alternatives to war do not equate to taking it up the bum.
