I don't think it has anything to do with 'moral standards', and I don't see anyone 'siding' with the general. People are wanting to know that there was a longer term strategy in place to ensure retaliation doesn't kill/impact America.

 

Then why was that always the end result under Obama and almost always the end result when any Dem Party politician becomes the nation's chief executive?

 

Kind of like Obama abiding by and taking credit for the 2011 troop withdrawal agreement from Iraq that was signed in 2008 by Bush and then after his re-election, Obama sent troops back.

Let’s also give credit to Trump for showing restraint in past few years amidst all the hostile acts Iran has committed against US and even mocking US as if US was too weak to do anything about it. The violence against US embassy and this man continuing to plan hostile acts vs US was final straw... Iran now knows we don’t f mess around.

The demonstration at the U.S. Embassy was just that an orchestrated demonstration in military terms. It was cover for reconnaissance in force. The response was closely observed by Iranian forces looking for weakness, patterns, timing, force disposition etc.

I have zero doubt that had our response been anemic or diplomatic round two would have been a move to overrun the Embassy.

Our response was appropriate, we took out the command and control structure of the unit tasked for the Embassy mission.

Good ****ing job! It speaks volumes about our intelligence in the region.
