The Israeli experience with the wall shows that Chuck and Nancy are dead wrong on the wall. Israel stopped illegal immigration cold - zero - after building the wall and then added height to it. The wall stopped an illegal immigration rate of 55,000 over 2 years into Israel whose population is ~ 9 million. That would be a rate equivalent to ~ 2 million illegals into the US.

 

They 'won' a public confirmation that with Donald it is either his way or the highway. The tantrum tossing bully was emerging very publicly. Unless the Donkeys capititulated to his will, he will bring the US to a halt. He got too cocky, and made the additional mistake of boastfully and proudly claiming full credit/responsibility for that as a positive achievement ~ and the Donkeys hee hawed.

 

The latest caravan being repelled should only serve to highlight why a 30 foot wall is necessary, equip it with all the sensors necessary to detect tunneling, attempted ground level breaching as well as over the top. Twenty feet in an electrified chain link. Either that of we will just need to leave the military at great expense over time. In the 20 feet between the wall and electrified fence have motion detector activated rain bird sprinklers spraying pepper spray liquid. That should slow the caravans down.

 

You think that's the way they'll see it? After 2 years of a great economy, you will likely be very disappointed in 2020 if people see the Democrat's derailing the economic growth after 8 years of Obama stagnant malaise.

I agree that a wall in some areas will help in that regard, but not 25 billion dollars worth.

 

Not politics. Trump has an ego problem and the Dems don't want to spend where not needed. They gave him 1.6 billion dollars last year,
which has not been used up, and they will give him the same amount this year.

As the wingnuts consistently said during the ridiculous Helsinki Trump/Putin private meeting (and it IS true here), sometimes the real work needs to be done behind the scenes. His moronic claim of transparency (after Helsinki) was just that..... moronic.

Nobody won in that meeting, but certainly anybody who had hopes (assume there are some somewhere) of avoiding a government shutdown lost...

 

I think it's awesome to allow the pubic to see their security and safety isn't worth $5 billion to New Democratic Party leadership.

I think it's equally awesome for the public to see the President is willing to take the heat for trying to change the NDP leaderships mind on that.

 

Or, the alternative, that Baby Trump is digging his heels in and insisting on having the taxpayers pick up the tab for what we all know Mexico should be paying for, while the 2 adults (and then some) had to wait for the tantrum to pass (Hint - It never does)

Instead, the President stands up and effectively says, 'if you don't think the American people are worth spending a total of $5 billion to protect, I'll take the heat and do whatever is necessary to prove you're wrong.'

Like the rest of the NDP leadership, there are people who don't think the safety and security of US Citizens is worth an additional $3.2 billion. I guess those citizens are only worth $1.8 billion.

 

As I said they don't want to accomplish anything its ALL political.
