On the issue of the border wall he has been terrible. All they had to do was learn from the left and change the language. Instead of going on and on about illegal immigrants they should have started with illegal criminals and things would have gone much differently. The fact is that the right worked hard since the Powell Memorandum to redefine the word so they could make "liberalism" an insult and a club with which to beat people whom they didn't like.

 

This standoff should now be recognized for what it is; Trump holding the country hostage because he can't stand losing to the Democrats in the midterms.

That decision is enjoined by the Courts, so the Orange one has no leverage on the issue anyway, and they can't presently be deported, so there's nothing to actually throw under the bus.

 

The 3 year extension gives time for Congress to act on immigration. The dreamers could lose in the courts and even some libs are not willing to take that chance. This has also risen Trump's poll number among Hispanics by 19 points.

Sure! If you recall, he actually eliminated the program. However he's asking for a deal involving legislation. If the Congress enacts a 3 year time period for DACA and the President signs it, it's not an unconstitutional program, it's a constitutional and legal one.

But that's not how you guys do things, which is why the program was created with an executive branch memo...perfectly unconstitutional.
