    .
i think in America one has to be pretty stupid to drop out of school without at least a high school diploma

    Dont you?

    Or to deal drugs

Or to be a professional petty thief

    Or have fatherless children

Some people make better personal decisions than others

and that explains 99% of poverty in America

Can you give us some idea of how you derived that last figure?

You tell me why I’m wrong

I listed only a fraction of the bad personal decisons available to us humans

If you examine any chronic poor adult you will find several self-induced problems holding them back

His lack of empathy is why his base loves him so much. They dont give a f*** about those people and never have, and now they have a racist jerk in the white house who reflects their views.

Its well known that Trump conservatives lack the empathy of most other normal people.

They would much rather they simply weren't fed at all, and left to live or die on their own. They dont really care about the outcome as long as people get punished for the choices they deem is irresponsible in life.

I actually believe that a civil was is imminent in America. And it will happen in our lifetime almost certainly.

With the exception of situations growing out of wars, temporary natural disasters, etc., WHY is it the responsibility of the government to 'get down into the weeds' of what people EAT?!

I want to eat, so, I go to a grocery store, buy food, and EAT. It's none of the damned government's concern what I eat, how much I eat, what I paid for the food, or anything else, so long as I didn't do anything criminal to get the food... right?

Why do hyperliberals always assume (based on NOTHING that exists in the Constitution of the United States) that the government has an ongoing, recurring responsibility to feed ANYBODY?! As many times as I've asked that question, I've never gotten a logical, factual, truthful answer out of any liberals....

Should a couple of eight year olds have to file a tax return on their lemonade stand? How about a rwelve year old cutting grass or shoveling snow?

Well if you don't like the actual definition why don't you supply your definition of " open borders" or is it just easier for you to babble Republican talking points without bothering to think.

And how about you try to document your imaginary millions of illegal border crossings per year. Bet you just made that up,

Asians in general don't do nearly as much drugs and alcohol as white people. Which has nothing to do with growing food.

If by "the world" you mean First Worlder loafers and their Virtue Signalling First World enablers, you're probably right. Meanwhile the ACTUAL world knows that they are not poor.

#1 That people who buy fast food, soda, meat, cheese, iphones, new clothes, new shoes, cars, tvs, airconditioning, etc are 'hungry'.

#2 That you can live wherever you want. If you can't afford the rent, you can't afford the rent. Move. America has some of the cheapest real estate on planet earth.

#3 If you're rural, you somehow can't can grow food. A tenth of an acre can produce enough food for a family of 4.

What about the evidence that obesity is most common in the lowest socio-economic orders?

So you're acknowledging that they can travel if need be? Good, we're on the same page then. We agree that they can (and should) live where they can afford to live, not where they want to live. And they can also move for work.

No one has ever said anything about not feeding the PRESENT children. Our goal is to obviate future children being born to poverty - since the number of future children is far FAR greater than the number of present children.

No we don't. None of us should have to fund the care of those whose circumstances are a choice. They are the very last people on earth we should waste resources on. They've MADE THEIR CHOICE. All our resources and effort should go to those who did not choose it.

We live in a planet of finite resources and time. Apparently so limited that the vast majority of us live in real poverty. It's grotesque to be killing the planet and starving millions, just to fete First Worlders who clearly never wanted what's on offer in the first place (had they wanted it, they would have striven for it). It's morally repugnant from every possible view. As repugnant as the billionaire failing to give to Third World charities.

OMG. You're actually soliciting sympathy for such people .. while elsewhere skeletal 4 year olds are searching the dirt for a grain of rice.

I'm not a Conservative, so can't speak to their way of thinking.

And the reality I live in is one of cause and effect. If you fail to learn a work ethic, if you indulge yourself, and if you insist on spending more than you earn, you will become or remain 'poor'. If you work hard, stay clean, live where you can afford, and ALWAYS spend less than you earn, you will almost certainly never be poor. That is the only reality which actually exists.

If some folk are choosing to believe that magic luck fairies are involved, and that there is no cause/effect, they are doing so for reasons of personal convenience.

OMG!! You are actually ignoring scientific knowledge!! Tell me - what have you done lately for those starving children? There are a lot you know including those who live in the rubbish dumps of third world countries - the SAME countries that have restrictive abortion practices

NOTHING is easy. Are you seriously suggesting that First Worlders shouldn't have to do things which are hard?

If so .. you are too far gone. There's no hope of shocking you into much need reflection.

So you do think it's Magical Luck Fairies? You don't think you live in a universe of cause and effect?

I have 20lbs of rice. I am going to give it to the skeletal child, not the fat American. That's where the buck stops. Anything beyond that is morally repugnant preferential use of a finite resource.

What happened to the “Little Aussie battler”?? They still exist you know - mostly in rural areas but they DO exist . I know I have bloody met more than a few. So you know how much a “ringer” on a property earns (now admittedly they get food and board for free, basic as it is - they get, in hand just over $100/day - that is IT!

I am not contending that there are not those who are “pissing it up against the wall” but there are more who ARE struggling because they have disabled family or mental health issues or simply cannot get a job because they cannot access shower and laundry let alone a referee
