Trump.... what would turn supporters against him

I know they will never do it but I think it should be a law that every new Presidential term; in the first year of that President's term when they submit their first budget, it be done so in an itemized way as to where Congress will have to approve every program on it's own. Like you said, you have uniforms that you never wear. So the DoD budget would have the uniforms be it's own funding nugget. I can see someone like Susan Collins asking the SecDef or whomever, "Don't they already have uniforms? Why are we spending 5 billion on them for the Army alone? I think a lot of programs are funded at the beginning of the year then they get reduced or suspended half way through the year to pay for something else. But in the next budget cycle, its fully funded again. Congress doesn't look all that closely at what happens after they fund something. Getting back to the idea, this would be for all departments. It would also make for a lot of nervous politicians because Trump is operating under Obama's budget until something like October I think; so this will be taking place very close to an election year for the full House and 1/3 of the Senate. You want to be seen as a big spender???

Think about it. Did the same troop levels exist for one operation that existed for the other? No. Different troops have different capabilities.

The troops we have over there now are not enough to “kick ISIS ass” and “take their oil”. More troops will be needed. Hence a new operation.
