Yes the vote IN THEIR OWN STATE and no where else. NO ONE has EVER voted in a national election in this country. There has NEVER been a NATIONAL popular vote on ANYTHING let alone for President. There is no national "people's vote". There are 51 unique separate elections. in 2016 Trump won 30 or those and Clinton won 21 of them.

You still don't get it or are just being obtuse, the STATES select the President.

never said they did, Trump would agree that Trump was the loser and won anyways

Trump got fewer total American votes than Clinton, that is just a fact

in fact, Trump called for a revolution in 2020 when he though mistakenly that Obama did not win the popular vote

I don't care what he said.

Only in 21 of the elections, he got more in the other 50.

there was a popular vote, and Trump lost it

but through affirmative action for the smaller States, Trump still won, Trump was a affirmative action President, he won with fewer total votes

you can try to defend Trump all you want, but the facts are the facts

    https://www.dictionary.com/browse/popular-vote

"the vote for a U.S. presidential candidate made by the qualified voters, as opposed to that made by the electoral college"

Not a national one and you have never voted in one.

Nothing affirmative other than the STATES select the President not the people, you know that thing called the Constitution which dictates that. Do you falsely believe you have a right to vote for the President under the Constitution?

It's not a defense of Trump it's correcting your false statements about our elections.

You don't vote for a US President you vote for your state's electors who then select the President in the EC. Why do you think there is an effort to try and make a pseudo national popular vote where one does not exist?

I voted in 2016 and there was a popular vote, it did not decided the election, but there was a popular vote and Trump lost it

time to give it up, Trump lost the popular vote both times, just a fact.. a historical fact you can not change, no matter how much you want too

You voted in a popular vote in YOUR STATE and that is all.

Your vote ONLY decide who the Electors for your state would be. Trump may have lost in your state but he did not in mine.

You will have to tell me in what State you live before I can confirm he lost the popular vote in your state. I can tell you he did not in mine or 29 other states while Clinton only won 21.

Again do you think you have a right to vote for the President? Can you even tell my a President who won the office because when all the votes in the states were tallied up together he got the most so he won? Nope because there is no popular vote for the President. Tallying up all those unique and separate elections into some "popular vote" statistical and election folly. Where it just ONE big national popular vote campaigning would be different, voting patterns would be different and results would be different.

all the votes added together from all States is the popular vote, surprised you did not know that, now you know

we even keep track of the popular vote, so yes, we can say who won the EC and also won the popular vote

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_presidential_elections_by_popular_vote_margin

Obama for example won the EC votes and the Popular vote both times

Trump was a one-term President that never won the popular vote

That is not A popular vote, people were not voting as if it were a national popular vote.

He did so in 30 of the 51 elections that were held, why do you keep fallaciously adding them up as if we all voted in the same election. That is political folly. I like many did not vote for him in my state because he was going to win anyway, had it been one big national popular vote then I would have. That is far from unusual. Voting patterns and result would be entirely different than just adding up all the individual elections that were held for the ELECTORS not the President.
