You posted stuff about "agreeing to work towards". What actual deals has Trump delivered?

Trump's Trade War Is Costing Americans $3 Billion a Month in Higher Taxes, Study Says
    http://time.com/5543384/trump-trade-war-taxes/

Lets see.. Trump is spending 12 billion just to subsidize soybeans, but you would be happy if he could save 1.2 billion on trade with the EU.

This ladies and gentlemen is the new Trump math. :)

That would be true with smaller farms, but when it comes to export commodities we are talking almost entirely big corporate farms here. The big corporate farms don't directly create as many small business jobs because they buy in bulk. As for truck drivers, that depends what region of the country they're in, but I read in some parts they're illegal aliens being effectively paid less than minimum wage because they are forced to drive themselves as an independent contractor, having to assume all the expenses themselves and working long hours. Those areas are probably where most of the cheap labor is, when we're talking about things that have to be harvested by hand.

In the economy, we often times assume too much.

And when we get to zero tariffs how much will it cost us? And when we sell more products to foreign countries because thy eliminate their tariffs how much will that add to our economy.

Please make the case that it is better for other countries to have higher tariffs on our goods and services like our

"Currently, vehicles shipped from Europe to the US face a low 2.5% tariff. Meanwhile, cars built in America face a 10% tariff when they're shipped to the European Union."
    https://money.cnn.com/2018/05/24/news/car-auto-tariffs-us-germany-japan-toyota-volkswagen/index.html

Tell me how we benefit from that.

Yes we are working towards lots of trade deals include the NA he has submitted to Congress and the soybean deal with China ahead of the deal we are negotiating with them.

That goes for any farm and I don't care what you've heard. A HUGE trucking industry supports and benefits from agriculture with AMERICAN drivers who must have proper papers and CDL's to go through weigh stations. Stop assuming things.

I know that's true but where I used to live most of them were illegals getting paid effectively close to minimum wage. (they had to pay for their own fuel and own insurance)

    Blues, read my post.
There is only $1.2 billion difference in the tariffs between the EU and the US.
Yes, you can point at car tariffs and the EU can point right back at 25% US truck tariffs.
But the fact is when you average them all out the difference is only 0.9%.
I'm sure the EU would trade car tariffs for an open US market for European trucks, but it ain't gonna happen. It would break the US companies.

Don't count your soybeans before they ship.

Chinese state-owned firms bought at least 1 million tonnes of US soybeans on Friday, a day after high-level bilateral talks yielded progress towards a trade deal and a Chinese commitment to buy more US soybeans.

The purchases are slated for shipment between April and July, with a large share expected from US gulf coast export terminals, three traders with knowledge of the deals said.

One trader with direct knowledge of the deals said that total purchases were around 2.2 million tonnes. The other two traders said the sales were similar to three recent waves of buying in which state-owned firms booked 1 million to 1.5 million tonnes of soybeans.
    ----------------------
But the market’s gains were restrained by worries that Chinese purchases will hardly dent the massive soybean stockpiles in the United States and around the world. The looming harvest of a large soy crop in Brazil, the world’s top supplier, further capped prices.
    ----------------------
Friday’s sales bring China’s total purchases of the 2018 US soybean harvest to at least 6.5 million tonnes, a fraction of its traditional annual haul from the United States of more than 30 million tonnes.

The US will lose the bean business to Brazil as China is investing in their infrastructure to increase shipments. Trump broke it, and we now own it.

This is one area where I believe it would be fair competition, even though U.S. companies probably wouldn't be able to compete with German-made trucks.
The Germans have better technology and engineering. They've also brought lots of Turkish immigrants in to have a lower labor cost in their factories. (Yes, Germany has lots of other refugees but factory employers see them as useless)

China does not want to allow any manufacturing in America and will attack every industry sooner or later

They continue to purchase AMERICAN soybeans as trade negotiations continue.

"The purchase comes after President Donald Trump said that China, the top soybean importer, had agreed to buy a total of 5 million tons of U.S. supplies following this week’s talks in Washington. That’s on top of the estimated 5 million bought in the weeks after Trump met with his counterpart Xi Jinping in December.

China has been buying U.S. soybeans as a sign of goodwill while trade delegations try to sort out wider problems such as intellectual property."

China must buy some. They can't get enough from Brazil.....yet. Did you notice the delivery date?

Oh, I fully expect a deal any day where China will buy 1/2 as many as before and buy 2 tons of US egg rolls while the US agrees to buy 100% of it's fortune cookies from China.
Trump will then tout this as winning and so will you.

You make fun of the idea of Americans pulling rickshaws for fat chinese tourists

But the trend is going that way

We need manufacturing in America just as much as the chinese want it all for themselves

I think I saw something on FAUX about the Chinese buying up all the US rickshaw companies and paying illegals $40 an hour to pull them around. Is that the one?

The chinese military will never have to occupy America for the communist dictatorship to control us

And even if they fail at total control they can really screw us up while trying

Who have you ever said they don't give a crap about our trade deficit.

I understand Buffet enough to give him the benefit of the doubt, so, yes, I'd trust him.

We have done trade wars and tariffs in the past, in has never turned out good for anyone.
Why would this time be any different?
