I think that sort of misses the tenor of the situation - I think its fair to say that most people will respect the protocols being put in place. I think most people are generally responsible about what is going on.

USA. Let everybody drive to their work. Everybody else just 15 miles from their residence -- except areas where you might have to drive 75 miles for groceries like west Texas -- but those folks don't go often, usually buy a pickup bed full of groceries at a time.

Well this is in regards to Germany. In the U.K, people aren't even checked on arrival are they?

You don't think that checking would be worthwhile?

Not everybody can be as efficient as Germany; It requires a certain level of autism to even achieve such feats that we seem to be lacking in comparison.

Sorry, why is it such a huge "feat?"

IDK why it's in quotations, you could say feat here, it's apt; and; IDK.
If it wasn't, then we would be doing it, wouldn't we.

It seems that you have very low expectations of your government.

to be honest....not really....no...if you have it then...you have it.
Once you get here you have entered a country that is isolating there is hardly anyone out. If you have it you can't really go anywhere other than home.
There is nothing open here in the UK...you can't go anywhere...you can't do anything...therefore I'm not sure what the scenario is that you're playing out in your mind?
If you have this thing then you have it....testing is a snapshot and can change tomorrow...if you have it you isolate which you would be doing anyway because....

    ......rinse and repeat.....

Are you completely forgetting about the supermarket where everyone goes?

No it doesn't. Planning, organising, common sense, carefully considering pros and cons, etc. Basically anybody can do that, has certainly nothing to do with 'autism'. What nonsense.

Nope....do you know the protocols we have to maintain at the supermarkets? Are you aware of what happens?

I assume strict measures in order to create social distancing, including only allowing a certain number of people in at a time, but I'm pretty confident that it doesn't include making sure people don't touch anything.

of course not...I suppose the alternative would be to close the supermarkets and have the military dish-up MRE's.... I but that seems a bit OTT.... I guess the people will just have to be sensible...

You don't seem to see the value in someone knowing that they have coronavirus. That's quite odd.

You're saying that "people will just have to be sensible" while they potentially walk around with a virus infecting people for up to two weeks after they've completed a potentially DEADLY international trip.

sheesh....bit dramatic isn't it....anyway.....which could also be a deadly shopping trip or deadly trip to the doctor or deadly trip to the petrol station or....or....or.....
Do you think people should undergo daily testing....or testing as soon as they come back from somewhere or tested before they go out.....??.....what is the scenario you are playing in your mind?

I thought that I made it pretty damn clear that I'm talking about testing on return from overseas, something which every country I know of has been doing, coupled with quarantine orders.

Yes NOW! What about weeks ago before everything was shut down?

    Not true. Again, supermarket.

Look....We're going round in circles because you don't seem to want to tell me what you are thinking....
I think...that's me personally....with no medical training of any kind.... I think....and my frame of reference is the TV news....I think......testing has limited value because if you test today then you can get it tomorrow - the only value I can see for testing is to know if you have had it so you can carry on and get out and about - is that the scenario you are imagining?
