And the money went to a foreign corporation. Guess you don't love America enough to buy an American car eh? Such fake outrage.

Union workers are the reason GM sucks? Whoa Nellie.....you are something else. It's not how well these cars are put together, it's the quality and the tech of the components.

That is not true at all. The company I work for imports thread rod and strut from India. We sell if for a profit. Those products, made in India, are creating wealth for my U.S. company. You really didn't think that post out very well.

That is so very seventies - eighties. ;)

    Since then -
Ford teamed up with Toyota and they share stuff like manufacturing techniques and hybrid designs.
Did you know a Toyota built in :flagus: has fewer defects than one from Japan?
I like my Ford for reliability and softer ride.

I do not have recent GM experience but, I believe they did the same with Nissan.

Only American Motors has been consistently ripped off by partners.

As for German cars. When BMW, VW, Porche, Mercedes, expand their models and bring in new ones, well you ask an owner. Lots goes wrong like the electric windows that just normally cause no concern.
I live in The O.C. and lots of these high end models are sold here.
And I hear about it from owners.

Yes as a matter of fact i was quite aware of th WTO and the status of trade between the G20.

Have you become aware of the fact that storks don't deliver babies, yet?

Really? So you can cite some facts about tariff schedules between Germany, Canada, and China, prior to President Trumps actions?

Ready to establish that? Would you even know where to look?

Not only that, but all the transplants share 80% of their suppliers with the Big Three, and a lot of those suppliers are unionized. So all their precious Southern "nonunion" built cars and trucks are built with some union made components.

Plus there's exactly zero cars and trucks sold that are 100% American, and that's been the case since the late 1970's. And the Department of Transportation, the Department of Commerce and the EPA have been constantly auditing non USA based auto manufacturers and finding very fuzzy math used to claim teir percentages of USA/Canadian sourced parts verses imported parts.

That's what happens when the ethnic make up is disrupted in any country.

Because of the changing demographics in America, America is no longer a predominantly Anglo nations but resembles a third world country who has more in common with shithole countries than Europe.

Would it be too much to ask for you to actually provide a link to the Commerce Department report or at a minimum the actual contents of the report instead of the links to speculation you provide. According to the Bloomberg web site I just looked at: 1) a report has been submitted to Trump; 2) the contents of the report are unknown; and 3) no one knows if Trump will take any action on the report.

Clearly your comment is not to be taken seriously and therefore falls under the category of TDS. And stop with the extreme hyperbole. The comparison of Trump to Hitler is a sure sign of TDS. Get some help and also maybe the next time your are in Washington DC stop by the Holocaust Museum so you can get some perspective on the difference between Trump and Hitler.

    True,
    Not True, Please

While the problem of How Much, Made in America
was pretty well ignored by Clinton - Bush Jr., - Obama,
the 24 years of RepubloCratic administration - same economic, foreign policies and
same not at war, wars -
The Current President :woot: is taking this problem to task.
Still, Ford benefited by Toyota's techniques of how to assemble a car.

Capitalism is about doing it better and cheaper.

In the seventies, American blamed lazy labor for bad cars
    when it was lazy engineering.
After the public turned to VW and Japanese Cars, America's auto makers
    got the message.
And no more engineering in planned obsolescence.
Remember how everything fell apart around 5 years? Engine seals. Upholstery.

Comparative advantage only works when both countries have something the other needs

All china needs is the money earn selling goods in America

    About $350 billion a year

Thats a lot of cash to grow the chinese economy at the expense of average Americans

You like Adam Smith but I prefer an old liberal pirate who is still alive today

    Warren buffett

He reconizes china as a mercantile nation and understands its not in our best interest for the trade imbalance to continue

That's the only time trade happens. Please let that sink in for a bit and try responding again with that in mind.

Cool. So I prefer capitalism and you prefer liberalism. Cool beans. Let me know when you are able to address anything I've put forward. I look forward to it.

I cant put all the blame on the union workers at GM

The corporate managers make mistakes too

But the reason our big three - now our only three - can never carch up with the japanese is poor assembly by the union workers

My American company is creating wealth as well. The relationship with the Indian manufacturer and my company is symbiotic.
