Because you do not protest the sanctions, which are preventing an economic recovery.

How would that resolve the humanitarian crises you mentioned?

You can call Greek economy "capitalist" if you wish, but it crumbled under the cost of unfunded social programs. While Norway might be an example where Social Democracy works, Greece is an example where is fails.

It is not the system in itself, because any kind of system can be mishandeled. Spain, Italy and Greece mishandled their systems while northern European nations managed to handle them better. The argument against Social Democratic system in US has been that it would fail because of our demographics, but I believe it would fail because political opponents would force it to fail. Look at ACA. It was not allowed to succeed. If the political will had been there, we would have made it work.

It’s not the fault of socialism. They just haven’t found the right leader yet. Meanwhile the human suffering continues to skyrocket.

So, you are pro-bailout too. I am seeing a hard-left pattern in your views.

U.S. sanctions have absolutely nothing to do with an economic recovery of Venezuela. That's simply absurd. Venezuela has one of the richest oil fields in the entire world offshore. They have more oil than Russia and Saudi Arabia combined. Everyone in Venezuela should be out driving in Mercedes not dying of starvation. Maduro has to go. He's an illegitimate president and has pillaged the country for all he could steal. That's the first order of business. Maduro must step down and a free and democratic election must be held to put a legitimate president in power. Then and only then will the crisis of Venezuela end.

Putin wants Maduro to stay right where he is for several reasons but the #1 reason is Venezuelan oil. Simply put, the South American country owes the Kremlin a lot of money and oil. Maduro is an important ally for Putin, who has built his reputation at home on his ability to project Russia’s power into parts of the world where the Soviet Union once held influence.

Putin would look weak in the eyes of the Russian people if he failed to defend one of his 'friends' against the U.S. That’s why Russia is so concerned that Maduro’s position is in jeopardy, they need him to remain right where he is even though he's a ruthless dictator that's creating a humanitarian crisis. Maduro visits Russia several times a year to kiss Putin's ass and he's well-liked by Russia’s elites. The U.S. and our allies have hammered Maduro with heavy sanctions designed to cut off his access to the government’s foreign investments, and they need to go even deeper with sanctions.

Were you aware that in December, 400 mercenaries were flown into Caracas, Venezuela along with Russia's Tu-160 “White Swan” strategic nuclear bombers? The mercenaries are associated with a group called Wagner, a private military contractor that employs more than a thousand former Russian soldiers. The shadowy group has reportedly fought for Russian interests in Syria and Ukraine. The Kremlin describes them as 'unaffiliated volunteers'. Yeah, right.

Venezuela is practically the only country left for Putin to dominate. Venezuela as an important Russian ally in the United States’ backyard, much like Ukraine has become an American ally under the shadow of Russia. Putin looks strong by maintaining that friendship with Maduro, and he would look ineffective if Maduro fell. I for one, am not comfortable with Russian nuclear capable super-sonic jets sitting in close proximity to the East coast of the U.S.

Your conclusions are illogical and quite bizarre.

I dont think we need to get too deeply involved just to stick it to Putin. Besides, the other guy is a socialist too, and while Trump might help get him on the throne, he will probably turn to Putin in the end.

Let's repeat what has already been explained. It is an international coalition of socialist parties around the world.

Juan Guaido (Donald Trumps boy in Venezuela) - Political party Voluntad Popular(Popular Will)

Popular Will (Spanish: Voluntad Popular, abbreviated VP) describes itself as a progressive social-democratic political party in Venezuela admitted into the Socialist International in December 2014,

Socialist International - The Socialist International (SI) is a worldwide association of political parties which seek to establish democratic socialism. It consists mostly of democratic socialist, social-democratic and labour political parties and other organisations.

Democratic socialism is a political philosophy that advocates political democracy alongside social ownership or regulation of the means of production with an emphasis on self-management and democratic management of economic institutions within a market or some form of decentralized planned socialist economy.

Democratic socialists hold that capitalism is inherently incompatible with what they hold to be the democratic values of liberty, equality and solidarity; and that these ideals can only be achieved through the realization of a socialist society. Democratic socialism can be supportive of either revolutionary or reformist politics as a means to establish socialism

Where did I claim that? I am simply saying the guy who Trump admin promotes in Venezuela is a socialist. Does that mean the Republican party is socialist? You tell me.

And yet, troops are deserting, citizens are protesting, and a population is being led, in the name of socialism, to the brink of famine. Go figure.

How corrupt and self-blinded must one be to support Maduro and his continuation of Chavez’s social experiment? To the core.
