Some idiot reported saw the provision which only clarified existing laws, laws that exist in every other state, and created this "LOOK EVIL WHITE SUPREMIST REPUBLICANS WANT TO MAKE BLACKS STARVE AND DIE FOR LACK OF WATER" fake narrative and the rest of the lemmings jump off with him including members here.

The pain thing to watch is how demeaning it is to blacks.

If I had to vote by standing in line, if I understood the line was long I would carry water. As any smart person does.
My objections to Georgia law is they keep trying to make it better. It was good enough. But the changes made do not offend me to the point I do not support them. What GA did is reasonable for all voters.
I object to ballot harvesting. I do not trust political operatives to get their hands on votes cast. I bluntly do not trust the operatives.

Democrats did not mind one bit they caused us to not have a Justice that would have been exceptional. Judge Bork was very exceptional. Democrats did not mind how they attacked Justice Thomas. And he is also exceptional.

Roberts wiggles like a fish. At times he comes up for justice and then later is anti justice. He for instance could have ruled against the Obama penalty for not buying Insurance Rather he labeled it a tax when the law said penalty. It was never a tax. It only applied to a small number of humans. No human should have the force of the Feds to name a product he must buy or pay a penalty. Roberts must have been sleeping when the evidence was presented to him.

They had some precincts doing things where the law was vague and all this does is clarify certain aspects of the law and helps make sure everyone in GA if voting under the same rules. The dropbox thing was an emergency provision last time and this codified them. The hair on fire hyperbole the left is engaged in is absurd. And has been shown BLUE STATES have more restrictive voting laws so why start with GA if they believe voters are being "suppressed".

    Common lies told by Democrats.
    1. Blacks are suppressed from voting. I wonder how my ballot knows what race I happen to be?
    2. Don't blame them for being racists since all they claim to have done is:
    a. own slaves
    b. wage war to keep slaves.
    c. Discriminate using Jim Crow laws.
    d. Ban blacks from marrying whites.
    e. Draft blacks but keep them working in the far rear of the battles.
    f. fight against the civil rights of blacks
and this list is not exhaustive.

I do not get why blacks trust Democrats at all.
Many have decided to quit trusting them.
Though the Government of FDR promoted the first black to Brigadier General, he never saw war service and never rose higher. His son however later rose to the rank of General in the Air Force.
No black 4 star General yet in the Marines.

stand in line for 8 hours without water or going to the bathroom

it takes us here 15 min in and out to vote, anything that takes hours is being done on purpose

So by your 'logic' their laws already suppressed the black vote.....so why aren't they being sued again?

How are they trying to cheat when the laws being passed apply equally to everybody?

So can you answer the question or not?

How are they trying to cheat when the laws being passed apply equally to everybody?

Sadly.....there's no other explanation for it. They think blacks are incapable of obtaining something as simple as an ID. It's pretty insulting.

by making it harder for people to vote, longer lines, not allowing them to have water or restroom breaks

but other areas are quick, in and out to vote... guess which areas take longer.....

What dishonest crap selectively pulling a snipit not even a full sentence out of a law taking it fully out of context

"This Code section shall not be construed to prohibit a poll officer ... from making available self-service water from an unattended receptacle to an elector waiting in line to vote."

The law allows election officials to set up water, the law says private groups must stay 25 feet away from voters in the process of voting, standing in line is in the process of voting. Voters standing in line can walk over and get water if they are so desperate. People can bring their own water and then can even order food delivery. The thing is I don't recall any instances of people dying of thirst or starving to death in voting lines.

Now show me where the VRA says anything about the right for third parties to supply water to voters in the process of voting. It's called electioneering and most if not all states have laws against it. How come they have never been declared in violation of the VRA.

The GA law is a brand new law that has never been effected, no one has ever been subjected to it. It's a may cause harm. We have states that have had such laws forever, people have ACTUALLY been subjected to them. If it harms people if it violated people under the VRA then shouldn't any lawsuits be filed in those states where it HAS OCCURRED? Why GA?

Cite the GA law where it says people are "not allowed to have water". Or restroom breaks. And it is the local officials who set up voting and are responsible to have voting set up to avoid such lines so go complain to them.

Yes! The code does not require water fountains to be removed, if there happens to be one nearby. Just like it doesn't require there to be one. But that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that not allowing people to hand water bottles to people in line is idiotic, and a clear indication that the law is intended to suppress the vote. Which is what will make the Justice Department's job much much easier when they point that out to the judge.

And which is what we were discussing. So next time, you MIGHT want to check what we are talking about when you jump into a debate before throwing around insults. Lest you end up saying foolish things... yet again...

And BTW, before you start accusing me of intellectual dishonesty, you might want to first read my sig!!!
