The sad part of this report is that those that truly want the Trump border wall do not even know what a wall like Donald Trump wants even really costs.

The 5 billion Trump was seeking for his wall was not payment in full for the full project.

the 5 billion was an earmark in itself...money to be used any way he would choose for ..."The Wall".

That is not the way the Federal government funds big projects. We, ...America, has no real plan. No survey. No impact studies. No Corps of Engineer blue prints or Cost analysis.

This is the main reason that the GOP leadership in Congress did not want to begin throwing money at Trump's wall because it is becoming a money pit.

Trump wants to operate his wall like he operates all other projects Trump Inc. does... open-ended with no oversight and no accountability.

From antiquity to the present day, walls have never really served their purpose for external protection .... at best temporarily favoring "defense".
I have no idea why the advocates of a wall to Mexico do not turn on the brain. First, there is where it makes sense already a wall, or to overcome a hefitger fence like a prison. On the other hand, it makes no sense to build a wall anywhere in the deserted area of the border area, because there are far more useful measures to identify illegal immigrants and drug smugglers!

 

Are you saying experts are wrong in the fact that Walls deter people? Did you know that when China built the great Wall. That they didn't think it would stop people from getting in. But that they did think it would stop Hordes of People from just rushing in and killing them.

Actually, walls have worked well, especially in antiquity when it came to keeping people out. Why do you think they built castles?

But this isn't antiquity and times have changed greatly and so as the purpose of securing our border. Walls, fences, cameras, patrols, drones, etc are all part of border security. It's a combination of all of these things that make the border more secure and keep out illegals crossing into our country. A wall is a necessary part of this.
