Imam Sulaiman Jalloh, who delivers sermons in English at several mosques in the Washington, D.C. area, including the Loudon Islamic Center in Leesburg, Virginia, the Dar Al Noor mosque in Manassas, Virginia, and the Prince George's Muslim Association in Lanham, Maryland, said in a sermon that Islam was the "only solution to solve America's problems." It would solve the world's problems, he said, but none of the Muslim countries could serve as an example of the implementation of Islam to solve life's problems. He further said that the U.S. has "great potential" and that he believed that "it will be a Muslim nation, and potentially one of the best Muslim nations that you will see in a long time.

Send that bastard to the hole he came from.

Are they going to do it with preaching or by popping out babies?
Maybe just lots and lots of immigration once a different President comes around?

(look what happened in California within the span of just a generation)

How is this any different than Christians hoping for a Christian nation?

As an agnostic, I would like everyone to stop trying to turn my country into a playground for their religion. kthanks

Are you serious? Are you really going to ask that?

    How ignorant you are.

I could show you a whole bunch of horrible things, and those are in the "moderate" muslim countries.

Oh, I'm sorry. Are you one of those people who are scared of other religions, particularly if those religions involve brown people?

Man up, and maybe try "live and let live."

You do know that they arrested the governor of Indonesia's largest city and capitol on blasphemy charges because he was a Christian. In Malaysia an 11-year old was married off to an older man. Malaysia also arrested and extradited a Saudi citizen back to Saudi Arabia to face charges that he had sent a Twitter tweet that "Allah doesn't exist", and the young man was held in prison for two years and given many lashings. In Morrocco they had a TV program that showed women how to put on makeup to cover up bruises from beatings.
Female Genital Mutilation is still going on behind closed doors in Saudi Arabia, and not just in the Southern part.

There are threads on all these topics, if you care to find them.

In most parts of Turkey it's not safe for Christian evangelists. The last I saw in the news a Christian preacher was murdered because he was openly converting muslims (in Islam that's not really considered murder, since the proscribed punishment for Apostasy is death). The local police didn't seem to be very anxious to try to solve the murder, even though there were a few witnesses.

Let's not forget Turkey is practically in the EU, and Saudi Arabia has long been a close ally of the U.S. and has received countless billions in money and weapons, so these aren't just backwards rogue countries.

*Shrug.* As an agnostic, I find religious zealots to be a problem no matter what specific faith they profess.

In this country the biggest threat I see, in terms of people trying to force their religion on me through government, is Christians, because they are the majority and have a massive sense of entitlement. I imagine if I lived in India I'd feel the same way about Hindus, and if I lived in Egypt I'd feel the same way about Muslims.

How is he any worse than the typical bible-thumper? He is free to speak and free to dream his religious fantasies.

Hey, people who follow religion do ****ed-up things. I'm so shocked. Why, you NEVER find Christians doing ****ed up things because of religion....

Religions adapt to the culture around them. Which is why there are so many different ways of practicing Christianity, and so many different ways of practicing Islam. There are enlightened, tolerant practitioners of both. There are benighted, tribal, ass-backwards practitioners of both.

Stop trying to tar an entire religion because of its worst adherents.

Yeah, those damn Christians for ending slavery and passing the Civil Rights Act. Why could we have had a good atheist government like Satan or Mao?

Nothing to fear from fundamentalist Christians in America, right? I mean, just as long as you're not a seriously ill child with parents who will deny medical care for religious reasons and try praying instead.

Why did the Christians institute and support and fight for slavery in the first place?

Most of the slaveowners and people opposing the CRA were Christian, too. Thank you for proving my point.

How about a NON-SECTARIAN government that serves people of all faiths and non-faiths?

Yeah, those damned Christians who put on the crusades, burned witches at Salem or cut people into pieces at the inquisition. Christianity is not as innocent as you make it out to be.

Somehow I suspect that if America's immigration consisted of all Christians coming from Russia, the Left would be all up in arms trying to stop it.

Saudi Arabia chopped off a witch's head several years ago. (That was her crime)

It's not a coincidence the Inquisition happened within the same generation that had fought off the muslims in Spain.

What do you think the Spanish had lived under all that time? Do your history textbooks tell you it was all a happy-go-lucky multicultural society where jews, muslims, and christians happily existed side by side?

Did that textbook say anything about the impoverishing dhimmi tax?

I've got a greater idea: why don't Muslims become Buddhists? Meditation, compassion, non-violence, vegetarianism... all this will help them chill out, clear up their minds, get away from violence, aggression and frustration, etc., which they desperately need. :oldman:

We have plenty of Russians. I have several Russian stores within driving distance, and I live in the country! Thankfully, they are not fundy nutcases like many American Christians. They're more the cultural kind of Christian, people who know how to keep religion separate from government. Something Americans should know, given our system of government, but strangely many don't.

I've been telling people this. We could end 90% of the conflict in the ME by trying to convert them to another more peaceful religion like Buddhism or Christianity.

The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) is the source of the transcript and the organization is accused of selectively translating views of extremists. Since none of us speak Arabic, we can never know how accurate the English translation is. I don't think he can keep his YouTube channel, if he is an al-Qaeda operative. The MEMRI is an anti-Arab propaganda site founded by a former Israeli military intelligence officer.

The Inquisition was largely Muslims fault.
After 800 years of Islamic abomination and Sharia law, the Spanish decided "OK, that's it, we have had enough of it. All Muslims in Spain, get the F out!" So they created the Inquisition to make sure there are no Muslims left in the country. Guess where they learned the cruelty from?

same ones that created slavery - that said slavery was a god given right, those Christians?

good and bad Christians exist, same with Muslims, Buddhists, or any group

we are a nation of secular laws, they trump religious laws
