Assad is fighting ISIS... We let a group rename themselves and assist them.. We should not have a single person in Syria right now.
So who financed those radicals? Who provided weapons? Magic jin jin dust? ha ha If you know anything about war, it takes resources, a supply line, and money in order to wage war. The real journalists have reported that the US, the saudis and qater were involved in helping out assad's enemies, even the people like isis. If not them, then who did it? ha ha. Your position is not based upon facts at all. It is just BS. The CIA got busted for flying out in diplomatic aircraft war supplies to be used against assad in syria. Just because you ignore the real news might help you, your position, but it is dishonest to do it.
Real journalists? LOLOL.. ISIS came out of Iraq.. They were Baathists, formerly in Saddam's military. ISIS seized a lot of banks and sold a lot of oil. What was ISIS doing before 2014?
Q: Russia appears to be making a lot of decisions about Syria, whether about foreign troops withdrawing to deals being struck with Israel over southern Syria, to which weapons you may or may not have. Does Russia now make your decisions? President Assad: Russia is fighting for the international law, and part of this international law is the sovereignty of different countries, of the sovereign countries, Syria is one of them. Their politics, their behaviors, their values are not about interfere or dictate; they don’t. We’ve had good relations with Russia for more than six decades now, nearly seven decades. They never, during our relation, try to dictate, even if there are differences; because there is a war and because there’s high dynamism now in the region, it’s natural to have differences between the different parties, whether within our government or other governments; Russia-Syria, Syria-Iran, Iran-Russia, and within these governments, that’s very natural, but at the end the only decision about what’s going on in Syria and what’s going to happen, it’s a Syrian decision. No one should have any doubt about this, regardless of the statements that you may hear, because I know on which base the question is.
Oil and Gas Sales to Assad Are Now ISIS' Largest Source … Revenues from oil and gas sold to the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are now the largest source of funds for the Islamic State. http://fortune.com/2017/01/20/oil-gas-isis-syria-assad/ Excerpt: Revenues from oil and gas sold to the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are now the largest source of funds for the Islamic State (ISIS), as the militant group faces mounting military pressure in both Iraq and Syria.
Where is ISIS getting oil from anyway? i thought they were driven out of most everywhere In any case we should have NO involvement there, none, nada, zip, zilch the big goose egg. Syria has nothing we want so they can bask in the glow of our total neglect like most of the nations over there seem to want and as many pundits say is the best thing that could have happened to most of them.
ISIS was well funded.. They were selling oil, robbing banks, kidnapping and using extortion. The article tells you who the sanctions are against and why.. The US has known about it since February of last year.
I agree that sanctions on that part of Syrian business is a god thing. One of the few actions by the Trumpocity regime Inagree with.
I would speculate that this was Matthis' idea. Trump is too hysterical to have thought of it himself.
Turkey tried and failed.. This isn't good.. Syria is not going to fight their enemies in Idlib door to door... They are just going to bomb and bomb and bomb.
So your final answer, is "Assad is not killing any ISIS"? Is that confirmed? Think carefully before you respond
Assad is killing non ISIS rebels.. Read the first post in the thread so you understand WHY the US is sanctioning Syria.
I did not address the killing of ISIS. Assad' main objective was to kill off the non ISIS Rebels not ISIS. IF any ISIS were killed it was not Assad's objective us was a by product.

Al Qaeda is anti Assad and anti about everyone, unless they are getting direct support and places to hide.
