You must be watching another video, he brings the gun from where he's concealing it from behind his back to his side, bringing it to bear on the contact officer,

Neither do I, I see things from the cover officer's point of view and given the circumstances he acted correctly. The suspect was the one who acted crazily, opening the door to the police with a gun in his hand and then rather than dropping it or raising it in a safe direction bringing it to bear on the contact officer.

So one rule for one and one rule for the other? Doesn't work that way, everyone is equal, everyone is treated the same, police are human and make life and death decisions in the most trying of circumstances. They must always be given the benefit of the doubt and never be the victims of hindsight hypocrisy.

The KILLER cop did it when he MURDERED the victim by needlessly shooting him in the back!

Because there was NO "gunman" since VIDEO shows that the VICTIM did NOT have a gun in his hand when he was MURDERED by the KILLER cop.

Now you are just making up nonsense!

The ANGLE of the victims body when he is COMPLYING and putting DOWN his gun is IDENTICAL from both the BACK and the FRONT.

    Reading my previous post
It should be obvious to any reasonable person with a basic understanding of English Literacy,
that I advocate that just such equal treatment be given by and too, the Police authorities, and will
respond with Gratitude and Respect when they do so.

    Reading from my previous post:
    (quote)------------------------------------------------------------------
    "W
hen Police act within the proper guidelines of what Police are suppose to do & stand for,
    THEN
they deserve to be called and treated with Grateful Respect as Police Officers."
    eg.

    (/quote)----------------------------------------------------------------------

But NO ! I do do NOT believe that we must always give the Cop "The Benefit of the Doubt".
As that implies Unequal treatment. Especially when we are dealing with the unnecessary
............................................................................................................ and Brutal Abuse or DEATH of a Citizen.

    A
ny such Abuse or DEATH due to Police Cowardice, Bullying or just plain Incompetence
should be fully investigated and if need be Prosecuted. - "The Benefit of the Doubt" is what
"Qualified Immunity" allows and it makes Cops Immune and Unaccountable to the Law, that
as YOU seem to agree, should be applied Equally to Everyone. Or is it as the PIGs say in
Orwell's "Animal Farm" "some of us are just more Equal than others ?"

    W
    ith "Qualified Immunity"
    P
    olice
are given a position "Above the Law" - Immune from the Law and once you give an
authoritative Agency the RIGHT to "Act Above the Law." it becomes inevitable that Members
of that Agency eg ( PIGs) will Abuse their Authority.

they went ahead and charged him with resisting arrest.

How long had he been complying? Half a second? 2 tops?

Not enough time to judge the officer's actions.

Ever had to make a life or death decision within 10 seconds? It can be overwhelming. Not as much with training and experience, but even possessing these traits, mistakes can easily be made in such a state of mind. Those mistakes are not judged in the same manner as mistakes made under no such stress. I'm surprised so many don't get this concept; they see a video and judge away immediately.

These stories are getting more horrid by the day.

Cops put themselves in danger. I get that. There are way too many, though, that shoot first and assess later.

I watched this video. This guy did nothing wrong. He is a legal gun owner, it was the middle of the night, he'd done absolutely nothing wrong, so he brought his gun to the door. Once he saw it was the police, he immediately acquiesced.

We send our kids to school where they get shot up regularly. Thoughts & prayers. Cops shoot innocent people regularly. Poor cop.

I'm not buying it anymore. If someone is so scared of being shot, that they shoot when no threat is even apparent, they do not belong in the profession. Get into accounting, or something. We don't need trigger happy people serving as our police.

This is disgusting. Most of the world requires far more training than the several weeks our officers go through. Perhaps we should look into that. Maybe several weeks simply isn't enough.

Killed because he played a video game too loudly. Insanity.

I watched BOTH of the ORIGINAL videos BEFORE they were edited and it is obvious that as SOON as the victim realizes that it is the cops he IMMEDIATELY raised his left hand and leans to the right to down his gun. IOW's he is FULLY COMPLYING with the police.

There officer in the rear PANICKED instead of following standard PROCEDURE which is to ORDER the victim to drop his gun. Instead he PANICKED and opened fire thereby MURDERING the victim WITHOUT cause.

At NO TIME did the victim give any indication that he was NOT complying. The KILLER cop FAILED to do his job which is to CONTROL the situation first and foremost with VOICE COMMANDS.

That is what police TRAINING is all about. The KILLER cop was obviously NOT sufficiently trained and should NEVER have been allowed to have a gun.

He has the gun concealed in the small of his back and then brings it around to his right side whilst extending his left arm.

Yes, give them immunity, give them the benefit of the doubt and do not try to judge them with the benefit of hindsight. And it doesn't matter if you're innocent or guilty, you should not resist arrest.

Of course they belong in the profession, they're only human, I was scared all the time. So you want a world where there are no cops because every cop is scared. And they always shoot because there is a threat, certainly in this case. As for training, well, you must understand there is no standard in the US as you have so many different departments.

Killed because he answered the door to the police with a gun in his hand and then rather than drop it immediately or surrender it by pointing it in a safe direction he brings it around the side of his body towards the contact officer,

You should ONLY watch the cover officer's viewpoint, he had no time to issue a warning and had to shoot fast to save his oppo's life. This officer plainly acted correctly and anyone would have done the same in his shoes.

    Wrong on ALL counts!

The KILLER cop had more than enough time to issue a command to freeze or drop the gun as PROVEN by what he actually said BEFORE he opened fire and MURDERED the victim.

And are you seeing this from the contact officer's cam footage or the cover officer's?

He brought a concealed gun to the door. Bad decision. If he were truly concerned about who was knocking, he had plenty of options to further assess the threat. He could have attempted communication before he opened the door. He could have called the cops and verified that it was indeed them. He could have just ignored the knock.

He chose to skip all of these options to assess the threat because he had a gun. He chose expediency, and it got him killed. I see a guy with a gun behind his back make a sudden move, I'm shooting him too.

I wonder how many cops didnt do what this officer did and got shot because of it? I bet there are plenty of those videos too.

it was dumb the way he answered the door, but he was putting it on the ground when shot

I have said many times, the odds of getting killed with a gun around a cop is greater than not having a gun at all - I play the odds, I do not own a gun

that said, I support this guys right to own one, and anyone else that wants to own one, as criminals thinking I may own a gun makes me safer (even though I do not own a gun)

now if I lived out in the country, I would own a gun
