To be tested, patients must pre-register for an appointment. No walk-ups or drive-ups can be screened without an appointment in most counties. In some counties if a person has symptoms, they can get a test.

We don’t really. They just don’t like it here. People come from all over the US and Mexico, Cuba, and South America. The ones who like wide open spaces, personal responsibility, and hard work stay, the rest leave. We have a corral on the east edge of the state we keep the ones who want to benefit from the state but need their gangs, drive by shootings, etc. It’s a pretty good system. We put our world class medical facilities that take Ebola and early C19 patients for the government over there in the corral, too. Safer that way.

 

High employment and low crime does help keep them out.

We haven't "transferred to herd immunity." Herd immunity is a phrase some folks have learned to repeat without any real knowledge of what they are talking about. We get herd immunity via vaccines. There currently is no vaccine for the Wuhan virus. The idea that we will just develop it, ignores the fact that Small Pox, Polio and a host of other diseases we vaccinate for, maimed and killed us for centuries, until we developed vaccines.

We are working on vaccines and more effective treatments.

Fake News CNN badly misreported a Gallup poll: No, 68 Percent of Americans Did Not Say They Would Avoid ‘Normal Life’ Until There’s a Coronavirus Vaccine.

Two-thirds of Americans said they would not return to "normal life" until a vaccine becomes available for COVID-19, according to Lying Fake News CNN.

The Lying Fake News CNN article cites a Gallup poll as its source. But Gallup did not poll respondents on the question of whether a vaccine was "needed before returning to normal life," which was Lying Fake News CNN's wording of the question in the headline.

The actual question was "How important are each of the following factors to you when thinking about your willingness to return to your normal activities?" The option "availability of a vaccine to prevent COVID-19" was important to 68 percent of respondents. That's quite different: A vaccine could be "very important" to people without being absolutely mandatory.

The difference is a little clearer later in the article, where Lying Fake News CNN uses the exact language from Gallup—but buried under a lot of other information.

"Until We Develop Herd Immunity" wasn't an option, because the Gallup Poll wasn't ridiculous like Lying Fake New CNN's misrepresentation was.

 

Herd immunity also works au naturale, but you have to develop 80% for it to work right. That would take a year and a half, to two years. And millions could be dead. Doesn't NEED a vaccine.
