And there were 16 practical choices aside from Trump.

Nice tangent, but the fact remains our electoral process is set. The Republicans hated Trump, but were honest enough to let party members elect their own nominee. The Democrats were corrupt and put up a candidate contrary to many of their members. They paid a price for that corruption by seeing many members stay home in a critical election.

Cycles in History exist many of them. Your claim that none of these cycles are identified with accumulating wealth is beyond abject nonsense. Feudal system, Russian Revolution and so on (way too many to count).... the Senators in Rome spent much time trying to figure out how to keep the poor fed ... so they would not revolt. The whole battle of history between those at the top and those not so lucky repeats itself over and over. The ruling elite spend a large amount of time trying deal with this problem. Religion for example became a very useful tool.

You won ONE election, and that by a technicality. The demonstrable majority of the people did not support you or your agenda on election night and I defy you to rationally argue that number has increased. Most of us are more concerned that a real illness will bankrupt us than worried that the Koch Bros will go to Singapore. hearnig someone speak Spanish does not send us into a blind rage and we really don't care who's in the stall next to us in the bathroom but really wish they would clean it more often

If you keep on pushing a radical agenda that only a minority agrees with you will galvanize the majority to turn against you, indeed, you already have.. Even TRUMP realizes this now and this is why he is backpedaling on certain issues. Unfortunately, for him, he is too invested in most of his agenda to do anything but double down. This is why the Republicans are going to lose so badly in 2018 and 2020. And once Trump is impeached and incarcerated I predict people will be ashamed to even admit they WERE Republicans by 2020

 

If you go after the 41% you may get the Independents, and you might even get some of the liberals if you would offer VIABLE alternatives. You're not going to get anyone by saying that all those who can't afford top tier medical should die, there should be cattle cars full of immigrants bound for the borders and we need armed guards checking genitalia at all our bathrooms

Well I mean, I actively worked in the primaries against Trump (though was not a never Trumper), but I feel like what's going on isn't that crazy. Trump is frustrated with Republicans bucking his agenda. GOP leadership has been unable to pass things - things they got on Obama's desk they suddenly can't get on Trump's. If things don't change, Trunp is done for - he will be a one term President who didn't accomplish anything.

He's basically left with the choice to work with Democrats. And I think it's a power play - he's showing Republicans that if they can't work with him, he is willing to reach across the aisle to get things done. He's shown support for the Republican agenda - but Republicans somehow, with control of both houses, been unable to produce legislation they promised for Trump to sign.

Don't blame Trump for that.

 

Smash this, compare the USA's overall standard of living to any that has ever gone before, Go back a mere 50 years and to any nation on Earth, now show me the metrics and tell me which one was better. If we're so badly off why are we doing so much better than anyone ever did before?
