Those who believe in official conspiracy theories, official narratives, have -0- interest in facts or the truth. Indeed, belief in official conspiracy theories demands ignoring facts and evidence.

WHAT HAS THE PANDEMIC TAUGHT US?

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/hospitalized-covid-19-then-hospitalized-130146859.html

    He Was Hospitalized for COVID-19.
    Then Hospitalized Again. And Again.

The routine things in Chris Long’s life used to include biking 30 miles three times a week and taking courses toward a Ph.D. in eight-week sessions.

But since getting sick with the coronavirus in March, Long, 54, has fallen into a distressing new cycle — one that so far has landed him in the hospital seven times.

Periodically since his initial five-day hospitalization, his lungs begin filling again; he starts coughing uncontrollably and runs a low fever. Roughly 18 days later, he spews up greenish-yellow fluid, signaling yet another bout of pneumonia.

Sign up for The Morning newsletter from the New York Times

Soon, his oxygen levels drop and his heart rate accelerates to compensate, sending him to a hospital near his home in Clarkston, Michigan, for several days, sometimes in intensive care.

“This will never go away,” he said, describing his worst fear. “This will be my going-forward for the foreseeable future.”

Nearly a year into the pandemic, it’s clear that recovering from COVID-19’s initial onslaught can be an arduous, uneven journey. Now, studies reveal that a significant subset of patients are having to return to hospitals, sometimes repeatedly, with complications triggered by the disease or by the body’s efforts to defeat the virus. . . .

I live in an endemic area for mosquito transmitted
    West Nile Virus.
It is more regional than Covid.
After the same ALARMS like healthy people dying of it in the hospital, it was found people who never knew they were sick, or only experienced mild symptoms had antibodies. Evidence they were infected.

Many people who are otherwise healthy, die in a new virus experience while most survive. It is the genetic influence on immunity.
Rather than look for co-morbid associations (you know who they are, diabetes, heat disease, age, <yawn> ) we should examine the genome of of those so stricken.

The pandemic should teach us is we dearly need to also fund free thinking, open ended "science". Such as why some people otherwise healthy, die.

Have you hypothesised about what genome studies may show?

    Huh?
To who? A letter to the editor?

Besides genetics violates P.C. standards that we're all the same.
Remember the ancient epidemiology on TB, leprosy & San Joaquin Valley fever.

White people most resistant, bad science.
    So very, very bad.

Aren’t gene studies done all the time? As in Huntingdons disease pre marriage counselling?

    mentioned above.

BTW it use to be big time for da Jews and Tay - Sachs
One of our many, genetically linked, brain rot diseases.

I’m sure someone will come up with a few ideas after all the data which has been collected so far.

    I've been there.
Witnessed it with researchers doing "it".

Evident in Drug Safety & Effectiveness studies and
    Environmental Impact Reports.
Haven't YOU noticed the above "science"?

I haven’t noticed it here. I remember thalidomide but that wasn’t corruption.
Mistakes and oversights happen. It’s not always deliberate for financial gain.

Great antihistamine Seldane. After years of popular use it went OTC
then taken off the market over cardiac concerns.

    I worked at 2 V.A. locations over 4 years.
    Witnessed shenanigans and drug studies.
Roche, Valium and Darvon-N were major benefactors.
Misdeeds were well known in the group and those involved.
Like evaluating patients nearly passing out as being
free of side effects and urine drug studies showing compliance
And breaking the double blind code to rearrange patients
and groups per results to support . . . .

I remember, years ago, a whistleblower wrote a book. Roche versus Adams.
Roche was selling expired medicines to third world countries.

seems as though the US isn’t great at drug trial compliance.

It has taught us that unhinged conspiracy theorists will ignore facts and place their own nuttery over the health and lives of others, including first responders and health professionals.

We are both conspiracy believers DT.

You like the official conspiracy theories, while I prefer plausible conspiracy theories.

No projection involved. Your posting history shows you place great faith in official conspiracy theories advanced by the media and authorities. No projection there, your history is quite clear. You believe what the Faucis of this world say without asking a single question.

I'm very much the opposite. I'm fairly well informed, and very curious. So many times in recent decades official theories and narratives are completely contradicted by facts and evidence.

How many TIMES do you need to be asked to REFRAIN from PROJECTING your own ABSURD beliefs about CONSPIRACIES onto others.

Small children and puppies need to have the same message REPEATED before they LEARN to behave themselves.

Adults normally only need to be told ONCE.

I learned that the left likes to inject the word "science" to make people believe they are smart.
When they are really bound up in a ball they use the words "settled science".
I am glad they are happy.
If I believed any of their crap we all would have drowned, frozen, or died of heat exhaustion long before China sent us the Wuflu.

And not just others, quite a few of the people who are dying now were anti-maskers. Nuttery can be a fatal disorder.
