Yes. If you read the entire thread, my first post on this topic (post 5) was that the NY Democratic Socialists were trying to cancel a Marxist black professor. As opposed to Marxism as I am, the professor should have been allowed to conduct his speaking engagement, but because his personal opinion about race, culture and Marxism was different from that of an Afrosocialist's opinion about race and Marxism, the latter wanted the campus to deny him his right to speak.

"Canceling" people's freedom of speech because you disagree with them is not cool. I have tried to make that point in every one of my posts on this particular thread.

This thread is not about the right. It's about the Liberal Left and the Post-modern Progressive Left.

The civil rights bill was voted for by liberals and against by conservatives noting that, at that time, each party had a substantial liberal and conservative wing, so it's a specious argument to say 'repubs voted for it' (an argument repubs like to make). Well, liberal dems brought the bill to the floor, and liberal dems and repubs voted for it, making it law. The argument must be, if accuracy is important, framed as liberals vs conservatives, not dems vs repubs.
