    Despite those same white people not wanting them there in the first place, and enslaving them previously and denying them rights all the while claiming to have some moral superiority over everyone else.

    Those same white people weren't the ones that enslaved them. Those people would have been in their 80s or 90s. It was the state that denied rights.

    Let me put it like this: the same white people "built this country," created everything good, fought to end slavery, wrote the Constitution and are supposed to the ones we should thank are the same ones who instigated slavery here in the first place and didn't even care about minorities and their rights until much later on.

    So to put it simply, **** them, their beliefs and anyone who thinks they're owed some gratitude.

    No they didn't, enslaved people did and received nothing for it but beatings, lynchings, no civil rights, no voting, nothing. Hence that is why "go **** yourself" is the appropriate response to a "you should thank us" statement.

    Slaves generally were used in agriculture. They didn't build anything.

    But the vast majority of those who have lived here since British colonization have. Those living today - pitiful dodge, btw - are but a small percentage of all Americans throughout history.

    Except several structures, and cheap labor had to come from somewhere. They also ended up being a good reason for the South to secede in the Civil War.
