If number of providers is artificially limited by the medical cartel (with government help) it is not a competition it is an outright expropriation (aka robbery).

There is no way Medicare for all will work as the Democrat Socialists present it.
The opportunity to purchase Medicare could be good if those purchasing it pay a fair premium for individual or family coverage when not yet 65 years of age. An alternate to private heAlth insurance is a good idea but the premium should be based on a percentage of gross income. This would provide insurance for these individuals and families and could end up helping to pay for Medicare for Seniors viability. Especially if healthy young individuals buy it.

It will bomb if it is Free and likely take the entire Medicare program under. And as with the Socialist Dems pkan, put the Country in 33 trillion dollars of debt. The y might as well give every citizen a million dollars.

 

The baby boom generation alone (which started collecting Medicare and Social Security since 2012) could swamp the retirement system and they've been paying into it for years.
