Why are Canadians so much more boring and less friendly.....than Australians?

    Of course it's expensive in Australia it has a fully developed Western economy - you want cheap? OK tell your friend to book himself a nice budget tour of Chad next time.

    Don't let my jaundice deter you from a trip to NZ. I didn't like the diesel smuts when you looked out at the view which was pleasant.
    Have you been on the Durango to Silverton train? That looks terrific too.

    Not the price but the fraction of the income that represents plus where in the country you are plus both items are heavily taxed to pay for the societal burden they cause

    That is the downside of state provided health care, education, workers comp, enforced Occ. Health and Safety and Pensions.
    It's also 2019 and wages have gone up, as well as costs.

    I ain't never flying and the boat trip is too long.
    That train in Colorado does look better than the other two.

    It isn't the fear so much as the unpleasantness of the experience.
    Check in lines.
    Security.
    Waiting at the gate.
    No fresh air for hours.
    Did you know transmission of TB has been documented on airline travel.
    Too much air recirculated.
    And then the hotel room is as delightful with its' sealed windows.
    I like "home".

    Oh what a drift.

    I forgot to mention that the same guy travels the world, spinning spanners for a motoGP team.
    I think, therefore, he would have the ability to make a comparison from country to country, as he recently made the comment that Australia is "fukin expensive"
    Needless to say that its not only JB and cigarettes where we get ripped off...its across the board.
    Most people in Australia would know that we get ripped off left right and centre...but I digress....

    What amuses me is that our governments (state/federal) allow/encourage prolific drinking, gambling, smoking.,..
    collect huge amounts of taxes in all three areas...and then spend it all trying to resolve the health and mental health issues created at the source....
    The politicians are culpable right from the outset...but i digress...again...
