Why aren't you out performing miracles with your Christian super powers?

Seems to me that moving mountains would only be silly and rhetorical if declared by someone who did not create the entire universe.

Or, you know, at least a planet or something.

 

The problem with Jesus saying that if people had faith that they could tell a tree or mountain to uproot itself and that it would do as commanded is that he used physical items in his statement. Based on the Bible we know that Jesus never did those things himself. We also know that over the past 2,000 years not one person out of billions of people has ever been able to do them either.

The situation is similar if Jesus had said that you could cook a piece of meat without using fire. That statement would have been true for about 1,900 years. Then someone invented an electric stove. Later on another person invented the microwave oven. Both cook without fire.

Theoretically, if humans continue to evolve, at some point one person may be able to do those things, like in the Matrix movies. Once that happens then there may not be a limit on what such a person could do. He might be able to clump all of the asteroids together and form a planet, just by thinking about it.

But based upon the Bible's standard for judging prophets, Jesus is a false prophet because what he said people of faith could easily do, no one has ever been able to do. And if someone does gain that ability in another 5,000 years Jesus would still have been a false prophet because what he said would happen didn't happen in his lifetime.

Deuteronomy 18:22 (CJB) = When a prophet speaks in the name of ADONAI, and the prediction does not come true — that is, the word is not fulfilled — then ADONAI did not speak that word. The prophet who said it spoke presumptuously; you have nothing to fear from him.

Jeremiah 14:14 (NKJV) = And the LORD said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.

 

I don't claim that sort of power.

Well, Jesus DID say that he would come back before that generation died. I guess they all zipped up to heaven before they could perform any awesome miracles.

 

Survivors of the 9/11 especially those who were trap and thought to be dead and were miraculously found alive, those are a great miracle.

 

Why, did someone use their Christian super-Xray vision to find them, and then use their Christian telekinesis to lift the rubble off of them?

The reason jesus people have no power and lack a sound mind is because the Holy Spirit doesn't come in the name of jesus - The Holy Spirit comes in the name of Yahushua.

Christians fake love and holiness. So they fake power to authenticate their faith. It is just that simple.

I heard of one particular case where a new Christian went to a hospital and practically emptied a wing after he prayed for all the sick people there and they were healed.

Then the pastors came along and explained to him why that was the wrong thing for him to do....without the proper credentials and learning...... and he stopped???!!

 

Why didn't god perform a miracle and have the planes NOT hit the towers???

Why were those particular people saved when other people weren't ?

 

First, I'm not a Christian. I'm not religious in the accepted sense. If I were I would most likely lean toward Buddhism. But I will respond to your question anyway. It seems apparent that you don't like Christians, or at the very least, have no respect for them. So much so that you make time to attack them on internet forums. Since you started this thread, I'll assume that you actually pondered your statement before posting, or should I say,'striking out'. Maybe you were frightened by a Christian when you were young..who knows? You may be obsessing. None the less, I see little or no point to your thread other than fishing for a fight. Ya think?

At what point did god switch over from real miracles to this wishy-washy stuff?

Before, it was all 'Be healed of your crippling illness!'. Now it's all 'But isn't the true miracle the view of the meadow in autumn?'.

No, that isn't the true miracle. The true miracle is something spectacular, not something that happens anyway that some people find rather good while other people, like the families of those who did NOT survive the attack on WTC, find to be quite the pisser.

That 3000 people die but a few people get lucky and survive isn't a bloody miracle.

because those planes were piloted by members of his fan club, no doubt inspired by his awesomeness. if they'd been flown by hindus, he might have seen fit to ground them.

Meantime, I suspect you were raised Christian, or have living Christian relatives, or some other combo. Either way, you appear to be ill at ease with people pushing a point. I hope you can see the actual reason for this, rather than just automatically reverting to indoctrinated ideas about why people choose atheism. It's not because we're 'pizzed off with god', it's because theists will not give straight answers to questions which appear to challenge the foundations of belief. They obfuscate, engage in slippery falsehoods, change the subject, get angry, etc etc. The hope is that by reiterating the question, the continued lack of answers might give the conscientious food for thought.

The planes hit the towers due to men's own complacency. God would have prevented those planes from hitting the towers if only the people in charge had faith instead of allowing those terrorist to take control of those planes.
The other's were also saved their souls and memories will never be forgotten their souls will be bless and those who continue to live will never forget.

True miracle is our faith and believe in God. John 20:29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Families and victims of 9/11 did not suffer a bloody miracle they experienced a terrible reality that evil is for real and only faith in God not faith in men will they find solace, peace and strength. Gad gave them strength and peace not to hate but to educate for evil greatest enemy is education.
