sorry, but i refuse to live in a society where a whole town, a whole city, a whole state can decide that they will NOT sell anything to black people or let them have a job.

    those days are over.

Are you really claiming that liberals and Democrats do not discriminate based on religion, race, ethnicity, and sexuality?

If that black person does a good job and does nothing else to offend me, he is as good a employee as anyone else. Are you claiming he is not a good employee just because he is black?

When you apply for a job, YOU have the right to refuse the offer of employment simply due to their religion, their race, their ethnicity, their sexuality.
Why would you want such a right? I'll bet that makes sense to you.

In that case- the prospective employer is YOUR customer; buying YOUR services, at a price YOU have agreed to. But you have every right to turn that customer away for any reason.
Why? Well, that's different... Because it's you.

When YOU are the customer, in any store- YOU want the right to refuse to do business with them, and you are certainly not required to provide a reason. Can be you don't like the fact black people may have jobs there, or they owners are catholic, or female, or gay. Any reason or no reason at all, you have that option and no explanation is required.

WHY should you have that choice but they can't? Because it's different, when it's you. You want privileges you do not want to extend to others.
You think of an employer as a social service agency with a duty to meet your demands and buy what they may feel are sub-standard services from people they may deem unreliable, from which they should then produce quality services and products that will make you happy at the price you feel is fair.

It just doesn't make sense for you to expect that when you look at it this way, does it? No- and it doesn't matter, because.... well, that's different. Convenient too.

    You really don't know?

"Many blame the tech industry for creating tens of thousands of new jobs in the area each year without doing much to relieve the housing crisis. Walk down Market Street during rush hour and the wealth disparity is apparent: Techies buzzing inside offices designed like Apple Stores, looking out onto streets dotted with trash, human feces, and the city’s 7,500 homeless people. It’s enough to startle even the most hardened city dweller—and has lately become fodder for journalists.

“In a time of scarce consensus, everyone agrees that something has rotted in San Francisco,” Karen Heller wrote in a Washington Post essay last week titled “How San Francisco Broke America’s Heart.” She was clear about the source of that rot, describing a “wealth earthquake” that had turned downtown into “a theme park of seismic start-ups” where “streets are choked with Google and Apple employee buses, and 45,000 daily Uber and Lyft drivers, some commuting from hours away and unfamiliar with the city.”"

THE NEW REPUBLIC, The Racist Origins of San Francisco’s Housing Crisis,
For decades, the city used strict zoning laws to target the poor and people of color. Today, liberal NIMBYs are fighting to preserve them., By LEXI PANDELL, May 31, 2019.

SFs insane zoning laws effect all people, white, black, Gay and Straight.

i know of lots of white folks who have been priced out of the city.

LOL! So, is The New Republic one of those awful alt.right sources you ignore? ;-)

"As The New York Times’ Farhad Manjoo noted, many residents and politicians in the famously liberal city have resisted proposals to loosen zoning rules, thereby increasing housing density and affordability. “What Republicans want to do with I.C.E. and border walls, wealthy progressive Democrats are doing with zoning and Nimbyism,” he wrote. “Preserving ‘local character,’ maintaining ‘local control,’ keeping housing scarce and inaccessible—the goals of both sides are really the same: to keep people out.”

While a touch hyperbolic, it’s certainly an apt description of the origin of San Francisco’s housing restrictions, which were every bit as racially motivated as President Trump’s immigration policies today. Decades before my grandfather came to San Francisco to live out his version of the American Dream, zoning laws targeted the poor and people of color, setting the stage for the crisis today.

It's a two way street- if it is OK when it's you benefiting, why is it not OK when it's someone else? What's false about both buyer and seller having equal rights?
Nothing, of course- except that equal does not give you advantage, and that is so "unfair"....

Another Thread based on an outright LIE.
The GOP is famous for it's ability to Defend Fairness, the rule
of law and Injustice. After all it was the democrats who held
slaves, helped create the KKK and wrote Jim Crow laws.
It was F.D.R. who formed Internment camps.Had a Spy in his

We know that Republicans are more likely to suffer the authoritarian personality and therefore bigotry. Realise the limitation. Improve as individuals.

Truth be told, if we treated people like the arses they generally are there would be no discrimination.

Yes those days are over and have been over for 50 years now. It is a little embarrassing that you actually believe that you live in such a society. Perhaps you should get out more often.

Interestingly enough you are also are happy to live in a society where millions of illegal aliens can sneak over the border and take the jobs of millions of lower income blacks. No other policy has hurt blacks more than mass immigration of low skilled workers.... guess who is cheerleading that effort.... that would be progressives.

Get real. ELITES SUFFER from that. I am not sure elites have an ideology, although they will push them on others. Almost all oppression throughout all history came at the hands of elites. Little people like you and I don't even matter, we are not part of the equation and have no chance to oppress anybody.

Yep, already achieved. The authoritarian personality of the right is well documented in psychological experimentation. Can't you give the right wingers a piccie to help them realise it?

Do I need to be more complex? Sadly, there are people of low moral character in this country like Donnie the Bigot who do not believe in the basic American idea of liberty and justice for all.

Like the fools in Seattle that want medical care and the justice system to be race based? Those kind of bigots? And all the people who allow them to riot and demand such things? Those kinds of bigots? And the ones that even condone it? Those kinds of bigots? Yeah I agree they suck.

No, I am posting about American-hating bigots like the Worst President Ever Donnie.
Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis:

“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us,” Mattis wrote in a statement published by The Atlantic. “We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership,” he wrote, adding that he “watched this week’s unfolding events, angry and appalled.”

Im against business firing for any reason that has nothing to do with the business itself.

I just don't trust the court system to make that distinction.
