How are you and everyone else on this forum qualified to discuss matters of politics?

 

This is very ignorant. They refer to the health care issues, obviously. That then impacts on politics.

I worked for over 10 years as mental health professional on an Emergency Psychiatric Hospital and had suicidal patients on my case load on a regular basis.
Briefly put, my experience was that when someone is determined to take their lives, the absence of a firearm did not stop them.

 

Did you consider the research and come out with a justification for your opinion?

 

they are not qualified for using their position to state with anything resembling authority that certain firearm-related restrictions will have a definite impact of firearm-related offenses by criminal individuals. Their field of expertise is medicine, not the law.

Their area of expertise is medicine, and medicine exclusively. They are devoid of anything resembling qualifications for discussing matters pertaining to firearms, their legal use, their illegal use, and the effectiveness of firearm-related restrictions in general.

There's not much research to consider when there were repeated cases of of gun owning suicide victims who chose other ways to kill themselves that were not so messy & it was not just my opinion that the victim was dead.

You repeatedly refer to "the research" without stating whose research or what "the research" claims to prove.

I just related what I witnessed & studied over the 10+ years of working with people who committed suicide. When they were committed to killing themselves, they found ways, with or without the presence of a firearm. Some had firearms yet chose to end their lives by other means.

 

White males have always been the segment of society with the highest suicide rate. Check the CDC data. Been that way for as long as data is available.

Its that way in most industrialized Western nations. The exception is Australia where male Aborigines have the highest suicide rate.

It has nothing to do with guns.

But your linked video is a great example of how gun banners twist and misrepresent data.

 

Apparently you couldn't find a MOD who agreed.

 

The field of expertise of pretty much everyone on this forum is not the law yet that doesn’t stop them from giving their opinion on firearm related issues.
