We can easily afford Health care for all. The other ones, not really necessary in my eyes, sure they'd be helpful. You guys love to exaggerate to the point of insanity.

All while our money continues to go into funding endless wars and socialism for the rich and lobbyists. Cause NO ONE supports government giveaways except for the democrats. You are hilarious.

We need to gut the federal government pay off our debt. Then we can talk about health care for all.

 

There you go shifting the goalpost again. Now it's about what we can "afford". NO ONE and I mean NO ONE in any office currently is going to pay off the debt. And we can pay for health care for all. Easily. Downsize the parts of the government that don't support the welfare of the citizenry. Enforce the taxes currently on the books and remove loopholes. Done. I mean at least be honest and fair to both sides of the aisle. Otherwise no discourse is going to happen.

 

I am being honest, i say we need to gut the federal government.. we need less government not more.. paying off our debt is vastly more important than universal health care.. vastly.
The health of our economy is what makes us capable of affording anything.
I am opposed to increasing federal revenue by anything other than improving the economy.
Most of the health care costs in this country are related to people's abysmal life choices.

 

Why is paying off the debt important? Tell me how long before we go into default? How long would it take to pay off if we were to cut every program (never going to happen). It's simply not even practical to talk about doing so.

Now we could get into the green on the budget which we could still easily do even by entirely revamping the healthcare system (which is what single payer would do), or is that what you are saying? Single payer would cost less than what we have now (not sure how this fact seems to go right over your heads in regards to the current budget) if done right and this is proven by every country that has implemented it. You are a denialist of this fact. You can continue to say otherwise, sure.

The basic Foundation of economic health is not being in debt... that is basic. If you don't understand that you should not talk about economics, like at all.

Insurance is what makes health care so expensive along with medical incompetence.

I just spent 3 days in the hospital for high blood pressure.. i told them to try losartan first. They didn't, they tried a bunch of other crap that didn't work, then they gave me nitro which crashed my blood pressure and it took a day for it to come back up so they could start testing other drugs. Finally they found one that worked, losartan!!!

In short, they mark up the cost of health care for insurance companies. And doctors in hospitals are dumb asses.
We need lots of reforms besides just universal health care.

Point was, what exactly is your plan to get out of debt and how long would it take? We can go in the green (would actually be quite easy) and start paying it off sure but trying to pay it off above everything else is completely impractical. For the other thing you are talking about the high cost of drugs mostly and this is definitely something that would be solved under a single payer system where the government is able to both regulate and negotiate drug costs at the local and national levels.

You talked about the mark up for insurance companies. Umm, those insurance companies don't have a say under universal healthcare.

 

How do you get out of debt?
Stop spending money you don't have and spend the money you do have on paying off what you owe.

How long will it take? It doesn't matter it's our debt we have to pay it.

There should be no such thing as health insurance.. you go to the doctor and you pay the doctor. No middle man, as i have already demonstrated that cuts the costs by over 300%
