Not a trick question. You've probably already had your vaccination of one kind or another already... so, now are you going to have the "next" one?

    One choice, and no "changes".

Not vaccinated and now on the backside of the delta variant so obviously no booster.

I won't even be eligible until late November, but, yeah, I'll do a 3rd shot.

The first two (Pfizer) did no harm to me at all, and, thank God, I never had so much as a summer cold....

For me, this COVID thing is, at its base, a simple matter of all of us versus a deadly disease. Speaking only for myself, then, I'd be mentally deranged NOT to protect myself from it....

You should have added “No, the first two doses were not worth it”

I don’t know if they weren’t worth it, but enough.

You may prefer the third choice in the list.

Please don't get me wrong -- I'm not 'evangelizing' for vaccinations. Frankly, a lot of my motivation grows out of me being "over 65", and, other people not using common sense or practicing decent levels of personal hygiene....

The third choice says I never got vaccinated and I did. I just don’t think the side effects were worth it

First double Pfizer dose did no harm. So yeah, I'll take the third when I'm eligible. Still wearing the mask too at the grocer, hand washing, sanitizer, etc. What the heck, it's not like it's a huge effort. It's less of an intrusion than shaving and getting haircuts.

I had and recovered from covid before I was eligible for the vaccine. I took the moderna shots when I became eligible. I will wait a month or two before taking the booster, but I will probably take it unless more information emerges to convince me not to.

Would you mind sharing what the side effects were?
They probably beat the alternative, what your wife had. Remember, she is now at risk for lung fibrosis and permanent shortness of breath. The vaccine can't cause that.

My wife had some serious side effects to the second dose... full body rash, itching for days, fever, low blood pressure... but she recovered, and she will absolutely have the third shot although the allergic reaction will likely repeat; just, she will have it in a hospital in case she runs into anaphylaxis, which is unlikely. Even a full body rash is not a contra-indication for the vaccine.

I finally got Pfizer on August 15 and September 10. I was reluctant but finally decided after it was officially approved. Have had no ill effects as of yet but I am not really anxious to get any more.

I didn’t get some checked out cause I was at work while they were happening and I didn’t want to miss out money. So here’s what happened though.

I got weird red dots on my skin. Not all over, but a couple on my side and a group on my foot. They looked almost like a blood blister without the blister. They went away after a week. Just weird though

I also got a crazy cough after I took the second shot that seemed to last for damn near a month.

secondly I got joint issues and still do. My joints pop more frequently. I also get fatigued easier

I also got pressures in my chest since the shot. Still happens as well

I don’t believe all the side effects have been discovered. This vaccine in my opinion is still in its trial period. Which is why none of my kids have the shot. The third dose caused people in the FDA to quit. That shows they’re not following normal protocol and are being politically pressured so when they claim to have FDA approval I call BS. They have politically pushed approval and that’s it.

Ha, yeah, ideally I should have been born handsome, wealthy, and with a "nine-incher", but, being merely human, I probably overlooked some things.... :lonely:

Good points. You probably did have some degree of allergic reaction and some degree of inflammation from the shots. Sorry, but they still beat the alternative, what your wife is having, or what other people had even worse.

The crazy cough is unusual. There is a tiny possibility of myocarditis and pericarditis that could potentially result in cough although unlikely. Cases of myocarditis from the vaccine tend to only happen in people younger than 30 and tend to be mild and transient. I'd think that maybe your cough was coincidental. Maybe you simply caught another respiratory virus at the time of your shot.

It is also not excluded that you simply had Covid and you don't know it. There are serology tests that target the virus' N protein and not the S protein, that would be positive in someone who had Covid but not positive in someone who simply had the vaccine. You might want to take one of these (available at Labcorp; just ask for the serology that only targets the N protein) to know for sure, if it's important to you.

By now we have extremely extensive experience with these vaccines, given literally to billions all over the world, so, no, unknown side effects by now are a very tiny possibility, including because these vaccines degrade rapidly. Side effects tend to happen soon, at most within a few weeks. I frankly do not believe in long-term side effects that aren't known yet, for a vaccine that is eliminated from the body 8 to 12 hours after it is given.

The discussion about the third dose made two FDA officials, who were about to retire, retire a bit earlier (by a couple of months) because they were angry at White House political interference, and I don't blame them. Still, there is enough data to support a third shot, and I think that the way the CDC ultimately issued the recommendation is actually correct.

Yes, the current and the last administration unfortunately tried to pressure the FDA and the CDC... which is extremely regrettable, but it doesn't mean that ultimately the current recommendation is incorrect. Remember, very serious and very competent countries like Israel and France are ALSO recommending third shots. They did not do this from White House pressure, obviously. They did it, based on their own agencies and their own studies.

In view of the new and aggressive variants, third shots in my opinion have convincingly shown to increase the titer of neutralizing antibodies ten to eleven times.

I was scheduled to be vaxxed on May 26 but I did a lot of research over the three weeks before that day and I decided against being vaxxed at all.

From what I have read it seems obvious that the Spike Proteins may turn out to be far more dangerous than the Covid 19 virus itself.

    Way to go....
I am taking zinc, D3, C and MSM and I feel that my immune system is boosted up quite good for Covid 19 when I am finally exposed to it.

At least by avoiding the Vaxx I know that I will not be shedding Spike Proteins that may turn out to be much more dangerous to everybody in contact with me, than the Covid 19 virus.

Definitely . I didn't have any side effects from the Pfizer, so I'm game. Since I travel and anticipate getting covid at some stage, I might go for Moderna which seems to offer better long-term protection against hospitalization.

I'm not worried about dying but I do want to avoid long stints in hospital and nasty long-term complications.
