There was no legal referendum in Easter Ukraine. Just as there was no legal referendum in The Krym - Crimea. The sham referendum in the Krym was held after the invasion. Then the KGB Scum Turd aka Putin has the Russian Duma "vote" and declare The Krym part of Russia. That would as if , if Ukrainecwas the big country in that area and they invaded the Kuban and then held a forced referendum and then had the Ukrainian Parlament vote The Kuban to be part of Ukraine proper based on the fact that 200 years ago Zaporozhian Kozaks went to live there as colonists.

This system been proven abusive and been that way for many years, highly dependant on morals of people in it, and prone to using methods of repression to keep itself in power.

Today - does not government in Kiev represses citizens of Ukraine to keep itself unchallenged? Where was the last rally against any sort of government decidion on territory controlled by government in Kiev? Where all these famously conscious people who were unable to bear seeing Yushenko delaying introduction of Ukraine in European Union? Where are they now? Did you joined European Union? Got conflict in east of country solved? Does not government introduces censorship of press, blocks social networks? Oh right, because it's russian one, it must be fine. I can read ukrainian media about situation, but ukrainians can not read mine. At all. Regardless of if they want or not, the choise is taken from them.

It is an instrument of direct democracy, if does not requires legalisation, unless it's a country-wide procedure. It was performed in Lugansk and Donetsk regions, and had approval of administrations of these regions, that was enough. It does not government's fuсking business if people want to perform a referendum - government can only approve or reject the result.

People have right to make decidions, this is basis of democracy.

First of all - if people on Crimean peninsula didn't wanted to be part of Russia they would've took arms against the "invasion". If not instantly - then now, that it is clearly observable that Ukraine "opposes invaders". They could've performed a new referendum. Could've sent a petition to United Nations requesting aid in being "liberated from invader". Yet non of that happens. People have Internet, can freely move, can speak and express themselves - but there is little to no protest against being part of Federation.

Except for crimean tatars, of course, whose Mejlis very conveniently got recognised as an official representative of their ethnicity - RIGHT AFTER THE REFERENDUM. Who cares that it existed for decades, if government in Kiev can use it as a tool?
