Women have equality. Why are they upset with paying alimony and child support?

    You make some good points. Perhaps the law could state that the beginning salaries for like or equivalent jobs would be required to be the same, but promotions or superior workmanship could be a basis for additional pay, so long as any given company demonstrated gender neutrality in those pay increases. I'm not suggesting that everyone stay at the same level of pay forever--just beginning pay.

    I looked up "gender wage gap" on google. It showed an approximate 20% gap between male & female wages for full time work for years 2016-2017. I've seen nothing showing a 2% gap as you're suggesting. where did that come from?

    Now that is a more common sense approach, and one that takes into consideration an employees ability to do the job.

    Actually, that standard is applied quite frequently, but in more entry level jobs. By the time someone reaches a higher level of pay, they have established themselves in regards to ability and performance. Again, gender or any of those external characteristics should not come into play.

    You're looking at surface info. It has been proven and used in court that women make 98% to the dollar that men do. Or I should say White women make that to White men. Minorities get far less. So unless you're a minority then you have no claim to this.

    To a certain degree I agree.

    Suppose a man who is never violent is physically attacked by his female partner. He calls the police and he is the one arrested. He is prosecuted as the Primary Aggressor.

    There are many injustices involved in his story
    -- female guards make 80% of male guards wage for the same work
    -- male guards are much more likely to be promoted to become a warden

    But the injustices faced by men should not be dismissed either.

    Agreed. My voice here is for equality under the law & equal opportunity for pursuing our personal dreams, for all of us, regardless of gender, age, race, or sexual persuasion. We've come a long way toward that goal during my lifetime, but the current state of mind of our people makes me realize we've got a distance yet to go.

    Dude - what part of 2 people - same income - same expenses - one pays the other a bunch of money - do you not get ?

    The market decides what you are worth. I am surprised that women make that much.

    If you have a prison riot, which would you like next to you. Two women or two men when the inmates are rioting?

    You mean like assuming responsibilities for their actions. Most real men have learned and practice responsibility for their actions. The ones that duck alimony and child support are just scum.

    It's common knowledge for those who want to look it up. And I'm not saying that to get smart with you. It's for those who are fighting a fight without putting in much effort. And it's not great. Because the result is it shows women are equal and still aren't happy. And that they have taken things way too far. And this is why as equals this fighting for more stuff isn't working and they are actually having to pay alimony and not getting treated like they are less than in other circumstances. It'll take a good 10 years of them getting in trouble like men for wasting the courts time, people time, presenting themselves as selfish, and not caring for their kids before it evens out. So I disagree that it's good. There may be some nice ladies who don't know any better and are just following the crowd but they deserve the same fate as the truly selfish ones. They do the actions.

    If I made the argument I would produce the proof. YOU made the argument they make 98% and offered no proof. That's suspect.

    I started the thread. Anyone who states something on it has to show proof. I asked people who were claiming that women make 20% less than men to show links. They haven't. Quit breaking protocol and go ask them. Feel free to also leave the thread if you can't follow the rules.
