nigeria and senegal make too many unforced errors imo...consistency and one, preferably two exceptional players and a good solid supporting cast are what it takes to win...but a Senegal win would be a fantastic story...

I didn't see it...was it like this, outside of left foot off the touchline!-Roberto Carlos
...it's one of my favourites of all time, I must've watched it a dozen times in disbelief I didn't think it was physically possible...keeper didn't think it was possible either as he went the wrong way

Uruguay has been solid. I think they can beat Portugal and I wouldn't be surprised if they beat France.

I'm looking forward to England vs. Belgium Thursday...

yeah France was already through and Denmark only needed a draw to go through so i guess that result was to be expected...Senegal vs Japan made up for it, great entertainment...

I was cheering Nigeria if for no other reason than Maradona...Nigeria had it but couldn't put it away with several great opportunities, would've been great for african football if they had eliminated one of the giants...

I think England will play well but I expect them to lose that test - right now I think Belgium is the best team in the tournament (Lukaku has been dominating).

While they don't stand a prayer of hoisting the Cup, I'm still going to be rooting for the little guys like Croatia and Uruguay. The Croats have been playing waaay better than I expected...

I'm preparing to send a number of insulting texts to my english buddy should they fall behind and lose to Belgium...

I expected the Croats to play well...I don't consider Uruguay one of the little fish, I think they have the tools to win this cup...

    Sports are fun...

Interesting. I haven't been following international play lately because the U.S. has sucked so I've had to catch up on the fly. You're right about Uruguay - they've been good for years - but Croatia has been a revelation to me.

What the - did I just see that defending champ Germany got eliminated by South Korea? :omfg:

Ouch - and Mexico lost 3-0 to Sweden.

Good game coming up in Brazil and Serbia (I hope)...

Croatia big two Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic are the key.

Uruguay vs Portugal could be a great match, Ronaldo vs Suarez...Ronaldo is the big man and Uruguay will look to cut service off to Ronaldo..I think Suarez has the better supporting cast, Ill go with Uruguay in this one...

Germany out! yeah I'll have few kind words for my german son-in-law in regards to his taunting my teams missing out on the WC :clapping:

I like how S. Korea beat Germany in stoppage time.

    First goal at 90 minutes + 2
    Second goal at 90 minutes + 6
