Barr's job is to follow the constitution. And the constitutiion says that unless something falls under executive privilege, it has to be handed over if Congress subpoenas it. Barr is refusing to hand over numerous documents are not covered by executive privilege, and threatening to fire any DOJ staffer who speaks to congress.on matters which are not covered. Technically, this falls under abuse of power, and Barr can be impeached for it.

 

Correct. Barr is only doing his job if his job is to represent the prez's interests. It's not. He job is to uphold the rule of law. He's failing miserably..........which is why he was picked for the post.

No he isn't. SCOTUS was very clear on what is and what isn't covered by executive privilege. Anything that can not be reasonable considered to be a vital secret isn't protected. For example, they ruled that Clinton couldn't order his staff to refu,se to testify on the Lewinsky scandal because scandal being secret was not necessary for him to perform his duties. They ruled that only things that must be kept secret in order to protect the integrity of the office are covered by executive privilege. In other words, if spmething being secret is vital to the President's ability to properly execute his constitutional duties, it's protected by executive privilege. if it's not, it isn't protected.

Barr is refusing to hand over documentation, and ordering his staff to refuse to testify on matters, which would in no way shape or form impair or interfere with the President, or the DOJ's ability to perform their duties,and as such, he is abusing his authority.

You're right, there is no such thing as the "absolute immunity" Trump and Billy the Bagman is claiming covers all demands for documents and testimony.

 

There's also the fact that if google did manipulate votes, suing them is not the correct response. That would be a criminal act, not a civil one.

As with most of what comes out of that ugly little cake hole of his, Trump is again being ridiculous. It's all a distraction from the many polls emerging that show him losing to any of the Democratic candidates, some by double digits. Even Faux News can't lie enough to suit Trump.

Not in the Senate, but certainly in the House. And it isn't about success, or it shouldn't be. This president has knowingly committed criminal acts. It is the constitutional duty of congress to hold him accountable through articles of impeachment. But as always with those in power, their focus is entirely on keeping their jobs, and not on doing their jobs.

Impeachment is not necessarily about removing a sitting president, it's about holding him accountable for criminal actions, or actions proving himself unfit to serve.
